What Law & Order? Our Attorney General Keeps Perjuring Himself

This week, President Donald Trump labeled the U.S. justice system a “joke” and a “laughingstock” because it even extends due process to those arrested for terrorism rather than harsh and immediate retribution.

Calling the justice system a laughingstock is not the kind of comment you’d expect to hear from a president, but it’s refreshingly honest… just not for the reasons Trump stated. You see, the very person Trump has appointed to oversee the justice system, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, has already perjured himself left and right this year.

Once again, Sessions statements to Congress while he was under oath are coming back to bite him in the butt. As details from the Russia investigation become public knowledge, it’s become increasingly clear that Sessions knew a lot more than he admit – and has even since “remembered” details he peculiarly couldn’t recall when asked about them originally.

Let’s look back at Session’s statements (check out a timeline compiled at digg) and see the contradictions:

1. During his confirmation hearing, Sessions tells senators he is “not aware” of anyone on the Trump campaign team that communicated with the Russian government.

But we later learned that…

When George Papadopoulos tried to set up a meeting between Trump and the Kremlin and Trump expressed interest, Sessions was present.

2. At the same hearing, Sessions was insistent that he had no part in collusion. “I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I… did not have communications with the Russians.”

But we later learned that…

Sessions met with Sergey Kislyak, one of Russia’s top spies, in two closed-door meetings in July and September.

3. When allegations arose that Sessions was also at an event with Kislyak in April 2016, Sessions denied chatting with him, at least to the best of his recollection.

But we later learned that…

There’s photographic proof that Sessions chatted with Kislyak that night, too. (Besides, how do you forget communicating with a known Russian spy?)

4. Called back to talk to the Senate about these meetings, Sessions explained that he met with Kislyak in his capacity as a senator, not as a member of Trump’s campaign, which is why he decided not to mention it.

But we later learned that…

Kislyak reported to his bosses in Russia that he and Sessions had in fact discussed the campaign on at least two occasions.

5. Also at this meeting, Senator Joe Manchin asked Sessions specifically if Carter Page, a foreign advisor to Trump, visited Russia during the campaign. Sessions said he didn’t know.

But we later learned that…

Carter admitted under oath that he had told Sessions that he would be traveling to Russia.

What’s particularly interesting is that after not remembering discussing Russia or campaign issues with Russians, Sessions suddenly has a terrific memory about these meetings he had forgot occurred originally. Like he may have discussed the campaign with Russian spies, but he definitely didn’t discuss Russia interfering in the election.

As for that meeting with Papadopoulos that Sessions didn’t remember happening, when Papadopolous suggested meeting with Putin’s gang, Sessions is sure he immediately shut the idea down because they could get in trouble for it. Yup, Sessions is sure he advocated that the Trump campaign do the right thing, despite forgetting so much else about that meeting.

Trump promised to be a “law and order” president, yet here he is leaving a perjuring mess in charge of the justice system. The United States can’t possibly allow a man who makes a mockery of what it means to testify under oath hold such an important role. What a laughingstock!

Mike most of thee Democrats who won lest night are not much better than the Republicans, and don't support progressive policies that we desperately need like marijuana legalization, Medicare for All, free colleges, and a $15.00 an hour minimum wage. What good does it do if the Democrats win, if most of them refuse to support progressive policies like Medicare for All. Corporations own both corrupt parties and our media, and the Democrats aren't much better than the Republicans. Purging all the honest progressives was suicide and will guarantee the Democrats lose to this fraud Trump again in 2020. You can't win with out Bernie Sanders supporters, and we've left your corrupt party, and will vote for Jill Stein.

Regus I realize you have brain problems, but you seem to forget that Bernie Sanders is the most popular politician in the country, and your criminal Democratic party that cheated him out of his primary, and recently fired all the honest progressives, is blocking him from having any power, so they can continue to make millions from Wall Street and corporations. Bernie Sanders had much larger crowds than your crook Hillary because he was honest. Tom Perez your corrupt leader was booed everywhere he went on his unity tour with Bernie Sanders, because people know what a phony he is, like Hillary. Without the Bernie Sanders supporters like me who have left your corrupt party, and will vote for Jill Stein, you have no chance to beat this fraud Trump in 2020. BTW the only thing Russia is guilty of, is exposing the corruption of your DNC and Hillary that cheated Bernie Sanders out of his primary, and lied about the Nevada convention by falsely claiming Bernie Sanders supporters were violent. Also you need to end your corrupt super delegate rule that unfairly gives your corporate establishment crook over 400 super delegates before even having a challenger.

Hey Brianski F. Did you tell your boss, Vladimir, about the elections last night?

Not much for you St. Petersburg trolls to do with your bots when the election is decided by the majority vote of the People, and not by electoral college. It seems that Women don't take kindly to a party that picks a leader who feels entitled to, and brags about assaulting them.

Dasvidanya, Brianski. You got nothing, my little Russian troll.

A$$hole-of-the-Year observes: "...all the Bernie Sanders supporters have left your corrupt party, and will vote for Jill Stein."

Hooray!!!!!!!

Bernie has repeatedly and forcefully disavowed political numb-nuts like you; he has already flat-out rejected you as a "supporter". Those of his real supporters with any brains are still engaged in the REAL political process, and they do not continue to be confused by and obsessed with deluded Tourette's-based fairytales.

So Bernie and I both wave a hearty goodbye to you and your malignant hoard of slack-jawed Russian-toll wanna-bes. I personally have never seen any evidence at all that the [D]s ever wanted moral, intellectual and Constitutional cowards in the party to begin with.

And to top it all off, by the looks of the recent election results, the [D]s certainly don't need your stupid support and inconsequential votes. Remind us: how many candidates from the "Jill Stein" party won govenorships, legislature seats, OR any seats on down the tickets?
