5 Tips for a Perfectly Healthy Summer

There’s no denying that summer is here. Though it doesn’t officially arrive until late June, the warm temperatures most of us are facing are certainly more summery than spring-like.

Since summer has decided to arrive a little early, why not get a jump-start on some of our favorite summer health trends. From food to family we’ve got you covered.

Have a Berry Happy Summer
A quick way to better health is to eat more berries – and what better time to do that than summer? Blackberries, blueberries, loganberries, and raspberries are all in season along with many others. Berries are full of antioxidants and fiber and naturally sweet which make them the perfect summer snack.

More Plants/Less Stress
Having plants around can brighten a space and make you feel happier, but even the act of planting something can have positive health benefits. Putting something in the ground can have a literal “grounding” effect that relieves stress and tension.

Take a trip
Long or short, trips are always a summer highlight. Not only do they offer great opportunities to bond with family and friends and see amazing sights, they can also help your health. Vacations can help lower your blood pressure, heart rate, and stress hormones.

Summer Superfoods
Berries aren’t the only great summer food to enjoy. Use fresh fruits and veggies to make your own refreshing treats. Of course, watermelon and coconut are summer favorites, and that’s something we can fully support.

The Skin You’re In
Skin care is important year round, but especially so in the summer. From natural sunscreens to supplements designed to keep your skin glowing and happy, be sure to not make any (potentially painful) mistakes with your skin this season.
