6 Healing Herbs to Help You Sleep Deeply

We all lose sleep every now and then. It could be due to excitement, anxiety, drinking too much coffee and so on. But if you have trouble falling asleep or sleeping deeply every night, you need to do something about it.

Now, over-the-counter sleep medication is always the first solution for most people, but these drugs have side effects. So you may want to try herbs before you buy artificial meds. Herbs can help you sleep deeply without side effects.

But realize that some herbs can be harmful when combined with alcohol or prescription drugs. See a doctor and do your research before using these herbs.

Lemon balm

Lemon balm has a calming effect. It was traditionally used to increase relaxation and calming. You can take it as a supplement, add it in tea or rub it on your pillow.

According to this study, lemon balm can help you sleep deeply since it increases mental calmness. But itís worth noting that high intake can cause anxiety.

Chamomile

Chamomile is popularly known for relieving anxiety. But research shows that it may not benefit people with chronic insomnia. If you struggle with occasional insomnia itíll definitely help you sleep better.

Note that there are different types of chamomileóGerman chamomile is the best. You can buy chamomile tea bags or chamomile tea.

Passion flower

Taking this herb before bed can prevent you from losing sleep. You should also take it several times a day if you struggle with anxiety, researchers say. Passion flower is safe for children and people with health issues.

Magnolia bark

Magnolia bark will regulate your cortisol levels and keep you relaxed. Research shows that magnolia is more potent when combined with magnesium. It can treat anxiety, depression and improve quality of sleep.
