7 Delicious Green Smoothies for Breakfast (or Whenever)

When first hearing about green smoothies, most think they will taste awful. But everyone I serve a green smoothie to is surprised at how delicious this green liquid tastes, and they want more. Not convinced? Learn the 10 Reasons to Eat Green Smoothies.

Here are seven of my favorite green smoothie recipes.

Delicious Winter Grapefruit Green Smoothie

Winter Grapefruit Green Smoothie

How about having a colorful grapefruit green smoothie for breakfast filled with nutritious greens, grapefruit, orange and flax seeds? It is great for winter and also helps with weight loss.

Ingredients:
1/2 grapefruit, peeled and chopped into pieces
1 orange, peeled and chopped into pieces
2 cups spinach
1/2 cup kale
1 celery stalk
1/2 – 3/4 cup warm clean water (not boiling)
2 Tbsp golden flax seeds or Meal + 1/4 cup water
Few drops of Stevia

Directions:
1. Add warm water to flax seeds.
2. Blend grapefruit and orange first until liquefied.
3. Then add kale, blend until liquefied.
4. Add flax and blend.
5. Add spinach, pushing it down with celery stock.
6. Only add as much water as you need to keep it blending.
7. Blend until smooth; use the liquefy button on the blender.
8. Drink within 15 minutes to get all the nutrients.

Orange Spinach Green Smoothie

Orange Spinach Green Smoothie

Super easy, tasty smoothie to make with only 2 main ingredients.
Oranges are full of good nutrition (lots of vitamin C), low in calories, contains no saturated fats or cholesterol, and is rich in dietary fiber and pectin. Pectin has also been shown to reduce blood cholesterol.

Ingredients:
1 large orange, peeled and chopped into pieces
2 cups spinach
Clean water

Directions:
1. Start with blending the oranges till liquified.
2. Then add spinach slowly till blended in.
3. Add just enough pure water to be able to add more spinach.
4. Blend till smooth; use the liquefy button on the blender.
5. Drink immediately.

Green Raspberry Smoothie/Pudding

Green Raspberry Smoothie/Pudding

It’s a healthy smoothie. It’s a tasty pudding! No! It’s WHATEVER YOU LIKE!

Ingredients:
1 Apple
Handful of lettuce leaves
1 piece of celery
1/4 cup soaked pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup raspberries (fresh is best but frozen, thawed are good too)
Few drops Light liquid stevia
1 Tbsp Flax meal

Directions:
1. Blend until smooth: Apple, lettuce, celery and pumpkin seeds with water.
2. Then mix in: Few drops of Light liquid stevia, Flax Meal. 1/2 cup raspberries
3. Eat in a bowl like pudding.
4. Or add more water and blend entire mixture to drink your smoothie.

Papaya Kiwi Green Smoothie

This papaya green smoothie is easy to make and so tasty. Also, it is low in calories, contains no saturated fats or cholesterol and is rich in dietary fiber and pectin.

Ingredients:
1 cup papaya, chopped
2 kiwi
2 cups Spinach
3/4 – 1 cup clean water

Directions:
1. Peel and chop kiwi and papaya.
2. Clean spinach
3. Put all ingredients in your blender.
4. Cover all ingredients with water.
5. Blend till smooth; use the liquefy button on the blender.
6. Drink immediately.

Sweet Grape Green Smoothie

This grape green smoothie is sweet, filled with healthy ingredients and very filling. It makes a great breakfast to start your day.

Ingredients:
1 cup seedless green grapes
1 medium banana, cut into chunks
1/2 apple, cored and chopped
1 1/2 cups fresh spinach leaves
1/2 cup coconut or almond milk

Directions:
1. Put grapes, banana, apple, spinach and milk into a blender.
2. Blend until smooth, stopping frequently to push down anything stuck to the sides.
3. Pour into glasses and serve.

Note: you can use red grapes but the smoothie will be brownish
