7 Patriotic Handmades for Your Home

We can all feel pretty proud knowing we live in a land of freedom and beauty, though that’s oftentimes hard with all the destruction and pain that is happening in other parts of the world. That’s why we have holidays like the 4th of July, so we can take pause to celebrate the birth of our awesome nation.

We wanted to share handmade items for your home that are perfect for July 4th but also great for year-around patriots! All items are handmade by artists across the country and available for purchase through their Etsy shops – a website for handmade, vintage and craft supplies. Feel good knowing that your hard earned money is going straight to other hardworking individuals!

This table top quilt is colorfully patriotic and perfect for brightening up a wooden table. Machine pierced with 100% cotton, the quilt is washable and non-allergenic. The 24.5 inch square sells for $35 at Aunti JoJo’s Country Haus Quilts.

This photograph print, entitled “In a Soldiers Footsteps,” sells in a military appreciation line from Memorable Imagery ($15, unframed). The artist adds: “All of my photographs are printed in a custom pro lab on FujiColor Crystal Archive Professional Paper, guaranteed for 100 years on display. Additionally, my photo’s are signed and dated on the back using acid-free ink.”

This rustic American flag is made out of reclaimed wood from So Purdy Creations ($35). Perfect for your yard, front door or even living room, this piece is 22.5″ long and 24 in wide.

This military insignia soap is 100% handmade with 100% of profits made going to the military. Made to “raise awareness of the sacrifices made by our military men and women and their families” the soap was made by Soap Rhapsody creator Connie who was inspired by her respect for her Army vet son-in-law. Made to order in any insignia and color you like, one 3.5 ounce piece for $6.

Want something truly original for your home? This “Home of the Brave” wall hanging is made out of license plates which are cut, sanitized and nailed onto a piece of reclaimed wood. Made to order with any phrase you please! $65 from Unique Pl8z.

Now here is something I had personally never heard of – bowl fillers! But these primitive, patriotic pillows are just that. Made from muslin fabric that has been dyed several times in a fragrant prim mixture, the pillows achieve a vintage look and are then adorned with a graphic image like the three pictured here. The artist then adds a rusty pin and bell to the corner. 3 for $8 from Country Thyme Prims.

Like pillows but not in need of a “bowl filler”? Try out this handmade liberty pillow, made from the same shop and in the same way! $7 for a 9″ x 4″ pillow.

I really don't feel proud to live in the land of pre-emptive, wars of choice, greed, torture, no more rule of law, etc.

yay! These are very reasonable prices for the amount of AMERICAN labor to make them! The quilt and license plates are a real steal if you have ever tried to cut metal, or quilt. Everyone could use soap and the proceeds go to a good cause! Beats the heck out of red white and blue stuff made in CHINA!
Keep America working! buy American!
