Can 15 Minutes Of Your Time Save The Life of a Shelter Animal?

What do Martha Stewart, Jason Schwartzman and Kesha have in common? They are all celebrities speaking up for animals that don’t have a voice and inspiring people to take action in helping homeless and abused animals.

In the video below, along with 50 Cent, Edie Falco, Nathan Lane, Julie Bowen, Krysten Ritter and others, they speak up for vulnerable animals in funny, creative and moving ways. It is part of ASPCA’s 150 Days of Rescue, a nationwide action campaign that encourages animal lovers to pledge their time in helping animals in need, with the goal of reaching 150,000 actions for animals in the 150 days between April 10 and September 7.

How Can You Help Animals In Need?

  • Volunteer at your local shelter
  • Donate to your favorite shelter/ rescue organization
  • Adopt a shelter pet
  • Foster a pet up for adoption
  • Donate supplies to your local shelter
  • Contact your government representatives about an animal welfare issue
  • Share a special talent. Enjoy photography? Capture some unique photos of pets up for adoption that adds to their online profile and increases changes of adoption.

Want to win a $150,000 for your favorite shelter?

Pledge at least 15 minutes of your time, and record your all your actions taken by September 7 at Once you log in your actions, you can nominate your favorite shelter for the grant. Then just start dreaming of all the animals you’ll be helping that goes even beyond your 15 minutes of good deed.

In celebration of their 150th anniversary, ASPCA’s ultimate goal is 150,000 acts of compassion through September 7, 2016.

For an added incentive in helping animals in need, post a comment below for a chance to win a commemorative ASPCA 150 gift pack, including an ASPCA beach ball, towel, luggage tag, frisbee and tote. Winners will be announced on May 17 and  notified via Care2 profile. Good luck! (Please note: Contest is open to Care2 members with a U.S. mailing address).
