Can You Create Your Own Reality?

The original Star Trek series had a memorable episode in which the Enterprise visited a planet that allowed anything a person thought of to manifest. The planet was supposed to be used for entertainment purposes, but the unsuspecting Enterprise crew didn’t know their thoughts were creating their reality — and so suffered accordingly.

What a perfect metaphor for our world!

Human beings are creators and this world is our medium. We were created to create and we do so all the time, whether we are aware of it or not. There’s an old saying, “Our creativity is our gift from God, and what we do with it is our gift back to God.”

Will we choose to create love, forgiveness, health, joy, kindness, prosperity, and peace? Energy does follow thought.

Another Hollywood project that spoke to me was the movie Flatliners, about near-death experiences. Its message was that every single thing we do matters. Everything we think, feel, say, do… everything. And it does, because we are creators.

That said, we are part of a greater whole, and what I believe is lacking in “The Secret Power of Intention and Visualization in the Now” school of popular thought is the understanding that life isn’t about us, but we are about life. This is the message I try to convey.

What we create must serve the greater good and not just our own desires. But are we wise enough to know what’s best for the greater good? There comes a point in our existence where we must surrender to that higher power that created us. Then, and only then, does our own creative will work in harmony with Divine will and fulfill our purpose as indispensable threads in that magnificent tapestry that is creation….Finish reading at

Of course we 'create our own reality' but it's done thru attraction on where you focus your attention. People who live in poverty or dangerous places have their attention stuck like glue on what's right around them. That's why those who blame the victom for making poor choices are so disgusting. For them, this concept is just another way to excuse the status quo reality for making it hard for so many to get anywhere, even tho poor people have no where near the amount of opportunity available to them because of what they're already surounded by.If you took a rich person and stripped them of their wealth, they'd soon figure out how to get it back because they already know whats out there and how to get it. But if you took them out their element and put them where they didn't know how things worked, they're be making some very dumb choices because it would all be by default. If you want to deflect those with big, bitter egos who think the invisable world is delutional, just use words like devine, or God, or any metaphysical term. It's like crosses to a vampire. If you are in an unwanted creation, you do need to use your imagination to make an illusion to retreat into, just to rest and restore some glimmer of hope. And from there, you can access new ideas, and possibly help.
May a blanket of comfort and safety wrap it's self around around all who can open to recieve it.

As an atheist, I put no credence in the idea that ''god'' gave us anything! We evolved with imaginations and consciousness of our abilities. So, I might not be able to choose what happens to me but I CAN choose how to respond to it.

I can do this without any religious worship, woo-woo or self-delusion about creating my own reality.

If my reality includes a terminally ill child or spouse...or finding myself unemployed at at age where finding a new job is unlikely, I can't ''create'' a NEW ''reality".....I can only decide how to respond to the circumstances in which I find myself.

Anything else is delusion.
