Dog Put Out with Trash

The one year-old lab was put in a crate with a blanket over it in the midst of other trash items for pickup. It had a broken leg from being hit by a car, and skin infections. Neither of the medical conditions had been treated. The dog reportedly had been injured for 30 days before it was found. Once in the control of authorities, the dog was treated with surgery which cost $3,000.

It was speculated that perhaps the previous owner was unable to pay for treatment. Still, the humane course of action is to take the animal to a shelter, not let it suffer for so long, and then have it possibly thrown in a garbage truck for crushing. Judy Sarullo, of Pet Rescue by Judy said, “Do something, and if you can’t do it, then at least have him put to sleep humanely rather than letting him suffer and then putting him in a crate and asking someone to dispose of it in garbage truck.” A local news station did a video piece on the situation. A criminal investigation is underway.

Orange County, Florida Animal Service has its own website, with animals for adoption, a forum, and their own YouTube channel. Last year they received about 25,000 animals to help.

If you are interested in adopting a dog, here is some very helpful adoption information.

Teresa W started a petition on April 25 2013, to ask Care2 to make this a Butterfly Credits item. The link is below, please check it out, SIGN and tell your friends !!!!!!!

This is a great idea - a cause where we could actually SEE our credits working - ask Care2 to give us the POSSIBILITY to support this cause with our Butterfly Credits !!!!

Come on all you members who have been stockpiling your credits - SIGN Teresa's petition and get this project moving - then you'll have something really special to support !!!

The petition reached the first 1,000 signatures in this first week but we need MANY MANY more signatures if this is going to be taken seriously ....... so please spread the word !!!!!

Apologies for posting "off subject" but I really feel this merits it - Thank you !!!

If you can't care for an animal and remain 100% committed to it then don't bloody well have an animal. People are such idiots. How utterly appalling. I hope it gets to a home where it receives the love it deserves.

I am relieved and delighted that the dog was rescued in time. I can't imagine the pain that he endured with an untreated broken leg and the trauma of his subsequent "disposal." Thank the Lord for the people who provided the funds for his surgery. Bless them.

May this beautiful little soul find absolute happiness and love.

The person who did this should be found and prosecuted for animal cruelty.

Humans never cease to amaze me! How low can they get? I mean, this is so disgustingly cruel and I just can't accept that these things go on around me!
