Giant ‘Catasaurus Rex’ Cat Rescued from Shelter

Meet Pickles, a giant 21-pound shelter cat that was recently rescued from an animal shelter and has quickly been gaining fans online.

Nicknamed “Catasaurus Rex,” Pickles was adopted by Emily Zervos and Andrew Milicia after discovering him at a Boston MSPCA shelter.

“He’s actually probably bigger than a lot of small dogs,” Milicia said. “He takes up a whole section of the couch, as opposed to a cat that could just sit in the corner and just be next to the arm.”

A video featuring Pickles and his new owners has already been viewed over 400,000 times online. Check it out above.

Beautiful cat. I am glad he now has a home that appreciates him and loves him. Cats come in many sizes ... so I am not amazed by his size. It is sad that two previous families had returned him due to his size.

My aunt adopted an SPCA cat. He became as big as a seal, partly because of feeding and partly because of his breed. We thought it was a wonder he did not get stuck in his cat door! And his name was Cuddles too.
