Hemp Milk Instead of Cow’s Milk

For various and sundry reasons, I’ve been drinking soy milk, almond milk and rice milk to varying degrees of satisfaction. Soy was great, until we learned the truth about soy cultivation, processing and the detriments of soy to our systems and our ecosystems. Almond milk is quite good, but once I learned how easy it is to make it, I find it nearly impossible to buy it (and am somehow also too lazy to make it myself). Rice milk just never really took a liking to me. Horchata, now that’s another thing entirely and one of my favorite beverages, but not for making a beurre blanc sauce or a simple rue.

Then, lo and behold, just the other day I discovered hemp milk and it’s truly my new favorite cow’s milk alternative. It’s creamy, not grainy, not watery and has a full, unobtrusively nutty/grassy/natural flavor.

And, just in case you’re curious, hemp is not the same as marijuana – read more than you ever wanted to know about the two very different varieties of the same plant!

thankyou. I was wondering what to do to cut back/eliminate milk and I don't like A2 and I hate to say it but I used to give my daughter oat milk and rice milk and I find them too strong for my own taste

hemp is one of those plants with seemingly a million different beneficial uses. yet because of a few antiquated, unscientific, and racist reasons the same government that defends tobacco which kills people continues to ban hemp which would help people, farmers, and the environment.

i think because there are about 100 uses for hemp (there is an excellant video about this on youtube) and because it is such a sustainble plant that we would be better to use hemp for those things rather than use very wasteful ingredients such as plastics, also there are quite alot of milk types on the market these days to choose from.
i do not like the way cows that are milked are being treated by many farms.......i would definitly buy milk from a farmer friend that was wholistic if i knew such a farm........i think goats' milk is far better for us since goats are more similair to humans than cows and it is more easy to digest although at $4 a litre it is far too expensive......there are many other calcium sources other than dairy as well

I'll have to check it out. I have a lactose issue, and I kind of miss milk, but not the after effects.
