Is a Guinea Pig a Good Pet For You? (Quiz)

Soft and cuddly, guinea pigs are popular pets. Interestingly, they are not related to pigs — potbellied or otherwise. Also known as cavies (pronounced KAY-vees), guinea pigs are the domesticated counterparts of wild guinea pigs from South America. Guinea pigs are rodents, more closely related to chinchillas than to rats or mice. Contrary to what some might think, they are not from Papua New Guinea, but instead come from Venezuela, Peru and Brazil. The origin of their name might be lost, but plenty of pet owners have found that guinea pigs make good companions. Is a guinea pig the right pet for you? This short quiz may hold the answer.

Always remember to adopt! Many local shelters have guinea pigs that are looking for a home.

Mmmm I don't think it is a good idea, at least you rescue/adopt the animal. Usually you can get them from pet stores: not a good idea. And, it is so sad to think people keep them in cages all the time :(
Please, don't. Thank you.

Score 5/6, but the one that´s showing wrong´s right for real: as animals who normally have to fear all kinds of predators they´re NO pets for petting, more for watching, think twice, CARE 2!!! Domestic rats are much better pets for kids....

I've actually has a guinea pig before then got her another friend. I think they're not only adorable but also make great pets too. But please don't get one with the intention of confining it to their cage which most people seem to do never even bother interacting with them that is just cruel. Can't believe some countries actually eat them.
