Mutant Tomatoes: A Discussion about GMO

Listen, learn & laugh to the Green Divas Radio Show!

To eat GMOs or not to eat GMOs -thatis the question. We tried to offer some subjective reporting, but as it turns out, we are all fairly clear that we prefer non-GMO, non-GE food. (GMO = Genetically Modified Organisms, aka GE = Genetically Engineered). We discussed a wonderful article that guest Green Diva blogger, Nancy Dreyfus posted on our which offers great 411 at 101 level on GMO/GE (did you get all that?). We also had a fun call from Green Diva Correspondent, Kimberly Phipps-Nichol with news from Reno, Nevada.

We had a lot of links and resources to share during the show, so here’s a link to a post on our website, which hopefully has most of it.

Big Pharma's has a huge investment into GM scum foods. BF researches and produces so-called cancer drugs - so it is in its interest to also manufacture cancer causing foods. Its called the Idiot Cycle. There's another excellent film about it. Google search for "The Idiot Cycle" on the web, Wiki, and YouTube. "The Idiot Cycle, a 2009 French-Canadian documentary, alleges six major chemical companies are responsible for decades of cancer causing chemicals and pollution, and also develop cancer treatments and drugs. It also argues these companies own the most patents on genetically modified crops that have never been tested for long term health impacts like cancer." Now my suggestion here is that all folks email *everyone* they know to view the previews on YouTube and also purchase the DVDs "Scientists Under Attack" and "The Idiot Cycle" and then hold screenings in local community centres and student unions to alert as many people as possible about this scum food.

Not enough relevant information on this page unless you spend forever listening to the show. Good topic, though.

Im not like other religious people who's only concern is that man is "playing God". I appreciate and respect science, but when its purely employed to make the rich richer regardless of how this affects average Joes then...sorry, but I'm definitely saying no to GMO.
