Rescued 3-Legged Pit Bull Helps Abandoned Kittens Get Adopted

Pit Bulls often get an undeserved bad rap due to misinformed statistics. BadRap.org started out as a rescue organization for Pit Bulls and has grown to a national go-to source for everything Pit Bull, including owner support, training tips, disaster relief and education about Pit Bulls. The founders helped rehabilitate several of the surviving Michael Vick dogs.
A study by the American Veterinary Medical Association Animal Welfare Division states that “Pit Bull-type” dogs have not identified this breed group as disproportionately dangerous in controlled studies. In fact, in yearly tests by the American Temperament Society (ATTS), Pit Bulls consistently achieve a passing rate that is as good or better than popular breeds, including Golden Retrievers and Beagles.
Unfortunately, responsible Pit Bull owners are often misrepresented by the small percentage of irresponsible owners contributing to the negative stigma attached to the breed.
That is one of the many reasons this video of a rescued 3-legged Pit Bull, Bella, is so heartwarming. She belongs to a foster family and this is the third litter of abandoned kittens she has cared for, according to The Dodo. She not only plays mom by grooming them, but she shares her bed and water bowl. They love to cuddle around her legs and cry to see her every morning. When the kittens are old enough for adoption, their cards will happily read “dog-friendly”.
When you watch the video, it’s obvious that the love and nurturing is shared both ways. And, not only do the kittens care that Bella has three legs, but they don’t seem to be bothered that she’s a dog, yet alone a pit bull.
Do you have a heartwarming pit bull and/or a cross-species story to share? Thanks for adding it to the comments section.
