Spiced Mulled Cider (Recipe)

Just as perfect at a holiday party as it is on a dreary winter afternoon, this mulled cider could not be easier to make. Add a little dark rum to taste if you like. Though this method uses the power of the stovetop, using an electric slow cooker is a great way to make it, too. That way, the cider will be warm all evening.

Mulled Cider.

  • 2 Quarts of good-quality apple cider
  • Peel of one orange
  • Peel of one lemon
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 2 Whole star anise (optional)
  • 1 Teaspoon whole allspice berries
  • 1 Teaspoon whole cloves

1. Bring all ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan. Remove from heat and cover. Let cider steep for 30 minutes-4 hours before serving.

Graham P, Glühwein is only good for warming your hands. Tastes like hot cough medicine.

Fabulous, these are warming recipes for the cold weather and the freezing rain day headed our way. Bring on the apple cider!
