3 Ways to Change Your Life

The greatest gift that I have learned in this lifetime is to live my life by these three phrases: Love your ego, love your life and lead by example.

Like many souls, I once believed that enlightenment was reached by ridding oneself of ego. In my early teens, I was so frustrated by the power my ego had over me that I broke down in uncontrollable tears. I asked the divine why I was struggling with detaching from my ego.

Then, like a divine lightning bolt hitting me I realized, “trying to rid yourself of ego is your ego’s work”. It had me chasing a ghost, spinning in circles distracting me of who I really was and what my true life purpose would be. If the divine had created me with my ego intact then there had to be a reason I had an ego.

That reason is my ego allows me to fully experience my humanity here on this earth. I started to be thankful for my ego instead of fighting it and I embraced what it had to say to me. I learned what my ego was fearful of and instead of fleeing from it I spoke to my ego with love and kindness. I thanked my ego for showing me what it was fearful of because now I knew what I needed to accomplish in this life. Our greatest fears can become our greatest accomplishments….Continue reading at InspireMeToday.com.

My ego is a SPOILED BRAT! Sorry - I just don't like spoiled brats and I certainly don't love them for God's sake! Hey - you like brats? How'd you like to adopt this one?

I understand this to say that you were separated from what you were understanding (an integrating consciousness moved out) which is what God causes when there is too much pressure coming in to you from divided parts of knowledge. Divided parts of knowledge (information life) are caused to exist in areas (activities and attachemts) where life is interested in something that is being misunderstood when it can be understood completely attached to an orientation around an interest in "What is God doing". I understand God to tell you that God is doing everything and that it is God that you are interested in as the ALWAYS ego. Everything interesting caused to your awareness, which is your soul, can be understood from the orientation of what is God doing. Using yourself this way, the soul is caused to exist united with your eternal position mark and you are participating in God's circumlocution (the talk around) according to your interest/experiencing pathway. Life is not understanding as they always will when they are understanding an experience with aware internal dialouge. It is not allowed to be "your own" manifiestation and it represents a part of your united soul that is not understanding something that you can use yourself to understand once it is moved out and placed in continuous rotation of infatuation at your position mark on the united circumstance. There is communication about understanding ability at www.allelyah.wordpress.com if you are interested.

I think our definitions of ego are quite different but I also think it's a case of semantics. I see ego as the attachments to the mad chatter of the brain and it's ceaseless emotions. One thing I learned from Eckhardt Tolle is that I am not my thoughts nor their emotional reactions. I can only say when asked the question "who are you," that I am! I am the quiet, calm witness to my thoughts but I am no longer attached to them thus I use my mind for the magnificent tool it was meant to be instead of being a slave to all of those thoughts that pour out it.. I had this thought that I liked, "my mind is none of my business". My mind chugs along performing all of the autonomic functions that it must do in order to keep me alive. But it is a mass-producer of endless words strung together and pictures from the past as well as thoughts of the future. But I am in the "now", the only actual time that ever exists. In this now we are one...all of us and the earth and all of the animals and other creatures of the earth and the oceans. Thanks for reading, Sat Nam!

This is so true. I always feel sad when i read yet another article about the 'evils' of the ego, how it is the 'monkey mind' that we must either overcome or 'rise above'. How can one ever be whole and complete if we spend our lives rejecting a very essential part of ourself? It's not possible. As long as we continue to be divided against ourself, we will never be healthy and complete.
