Each day 10,000 humans are born in the US and each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born. That represents one human to 15 dogs/45 cats. As long as these birth rates exist, there will never be enough homes for all these animals.

This problem could be solved if everyone would just be loving caring fur parents and get their animals spayed/neutered. As for breeders they would need a license that would regulate how many puppies/kittens they where aloud to sell a year. This would also help to shut down the puppy mills. If they could get something like this in place then given time to show progress this would cut down on the horrible amount of animals that where killed everyday. I know this would take a while and there would be a lot of struggle to get this implemented statewide but the end results would put an end to a lot of suffering.
