WSPA protects the welfare of animals in disaster situations because we believe they can suffer and feel pain. Our work benefits the human victims of disasters by saving fragile rural livelihoods and loved companions.

I have met a doctor/physician who does relief work for the UN in the event of a disaster. She couldn't understand why I gave money to IFAW for the disaster in Burma because of the government. I don't care about the government's point of view, I wanted to help the domestic animals receive essential treatment, pets and wildlife, none of them are responsible for what happens. The common people have little say in what happens and if their cattle and pets are restored to them then they can get back to their own lives.

Animals matter in disasters. Just look at the smile on those beautiful faces. They are loving these animals and hamming it up for the camera. Kids and animals go together and benefit from one another especially when disaster strikes.

Thnx Cher. And thnx Gillian, for giving to the IFAW in Burma. You gave because you care about animals!
