A British safari guide was killed yesterday after he was charged by an elephant during filming of a BBC children's programme in Tanzania

Thanks Cher! Great article...and I am so sorry to hear about this.

While these people try to get out there to make people aware of these creatures hardships, sometimes a freak accident does happen...look at Steve Irwin.

Personally, while I totally like having some of these documentaries out there for people to be aware, don't really like humans being around any wild animal...was this a mother, male in season...article doesn't say.

one more death that shows a wild animal is just that.you cant to turn an elephant into a pack mule. good the kids are ok. hope elephant is same

This is indeed a tragedy but once again a strong reminder that people, no matter how experienced with wildlife, must understand that entering the terrain of wild animals means that an event as this may occur and that the animals are acting and reacting as nature has programmed them.

Totally agree with previous comments here. Wildlife is wild - that's why it is called wildlife and therefore we never know when they may 'turn'. It is wonderful that people have such a passion for wildlife and want us to learn too, just such a shame that like Steve Irwin they die doing what they love to do... Great the kids are safe and let's hope that they don't do anything to the elephant, we were invading its space!
