Fifteen years ago, there were only 25 Florida panthers left. In a state that loves its strip malls and condo complexes, the big cats' habitat was paved over. As if homelessness and becoming roadkill weren't enough, when a population dwindles to just a

I guess i would rather have a "mild" cougar hybrid, than no Florida panthers at all...

This concept of re-homing or moving wildlife in order to save them from extinction is becoming an ethical debate. If there is some success in one program it may be more popular in other programs. Thanks for this article.
