The Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University (MCV) is one of many laboratories that use rhesus monkeys in drug addiction experiments. One of the projects at MCV is among the oldest in the U.S. - dragging on for 30 consecutive years

When we hear about hell realms, we think it does not exist in reality - but THIS IS HELL for the animals and as a CONSEQUENCE IT WILL BE HELL for those who are involved in it. This is how reality – material and spiritual works – by causes and effects. Please people be aware of you own actions, we are responsible for all we do, no matter who told us to do it, it still our deeds!

Ridiculous redundant experiments the data from which has been replicated all over the world with no relevence to human drug abuse as for starters the subjects don't choose to ingest the drug a small but significant difference in motivation of the subject likely invalidates the extrapolation to human drug addicts who want to take the drug in the first place! Research would be better directed at what motivates people to take drugs before they become either chemically or psychologically addicted to them! No doubt there is some huge drug company or government grant funding this obscenity!

It's humans who want to take drugs,
why is it that it's the innocent primates who have to find the cure?
I doubt that there is anything newly discovered that hasn't been known already for years.
Labs like their government funding as it allows them to indulge in their favorite past time, the torturing of animals. Beats actually having to work!
We have to find a way to stop this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This "tears" at my heart strings. Certainly there are enough people who are addicted to drugs that can be studied...if there is anything else left to be learned. Addiction leads to withdrawal and drug treatment centers know all about this. This is insane cruelty!

Noted... has anyone taken on the board of directors at MCV? There needs to be a concerted war on this kind of experimentation. I have never advocated violence in solving any problem, but this might make me reconsider if nothing else stops this inhumane, barbaric approach to animal cruelty...

This is totally unnecessary and unjustified on every level...what makes it even worse is that our tax dollars help fund the government grants that these university "researchers" (or monsters as I prefer to call them) rely on to conduct this legalized torture of animals!

If humans want to be stupid and take drugs, then use these idiots to experiment on.These monkeys did nothing wrong so why should their lives be made a living hell.Enough.We must get them freed

Primate/Animal experiments have proved to be Scientifically USELESS and HAVE NO VALIDITY: because what is dangerous for a Primate (MAN) could be NOT for another Primate e.g. a CHIMPANZEE!!!!!! In the ’50 for example, how many HUMAN CHILDREN were born with arms / all sorts of deformities, due to the use by their mothers of the Talidomide during pregnancy!!!!!!! That chemical substance HAD BEEN TESTED on OTHER PRIMATES with NO negative results!!!!!!! What can be poisonous for a Gorilla could be NOT for a Chimpanzee and viceversa!!! The USA is the biggest user of Primates for experimentations, still persisting with this senseless and dangerous (also for MAN) procedure!!!!! Probably because too many ECONOMICAL INTERESTS are involved: Companies PRODUCING cages, equipments, etc. Companies financed for Primate/Animal Experiments that can wash their conscience STATING that their Products “ARE TESTED” but what happens ALSO to HUMAN PRIMATES is not THEIR problem….

THIS IS VERY UGLY, I AGREE WITH PEGGY WHY PUT MONKEYS THROUGH TEST ON DRUGS,THEY KNOW BETTER THEN TO TAKE DRUGS! MAN TAKES DRUGS PUT HIM IN A CAGE & SEE WHAT HAPPENS ,THEN THEY WILL KNOW WHAT DRUGS DO TO HUMANS!! LEAVE THE MONKEYS ALONE

Thanks for sharing information and tears!! What can we do to stop? There is GREAT NEED for MORAL acting to be Legal. Petitions as many as we can? It is BIG issue - many will oppose us! It is money for the research which some people will stand by and those unnecessary jobs.

These scientists will never get the logic reasoning that animals are not like us, firstly and thus the tests are irrelevant. Animals are not for our disposal and cruel experiments and to come to medical conclusion via the suffering of animals is not an advancement for human kind at all. It is wrong, rather test on humans who these test really concern
