On January 31, 2010 an ice storm struck the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation in South Dakota. More than 3,000 power poles were toppled, and the tribe's old and inefficient water system, unable to cope with the added pressure, collapsed.

Without a doubt, the "white" population effected by this storm, had their poles replaced months ago.

Signed & noted. Thank You Cher for this article. It is so sad - but true, that the native americans are not being treated the same as the white population. It is a real disgrace!!! I agree that monies are sent for world aid, when situations are bad on reserves. Where is the compassion for fellow neighbors?

I hope this year is a good one for them, because last was pure neglect from the Government, seems it wasn't interesting enough for them to save them from such misery, I would feel so ashamed if I could help them and not doing it like they didn't last year.

Signed.
