"If you buy a dog, what will you do with the shelter dog you kill?" This is the question that PETA poses in its newest ad, "Everyday Dogs." The haunting video portrays dogs engaged in everyday activities with humans -- except all of these pups are in

Voted, but have tears falling right now....goodness, that video is powerful and took me to a place I will never forget.

Peta always does extreme ads, but right now with all of the dogs/Cats that are put to death, I think it is so needed to have AN EYE OPENER!!

Thank you Cher, but, noted with so much sadness for our "best friends", my little rescue could of been in that black bad when they said she was NOT ADOPTABLE and had no contact with humans...Goodness, all she does since I rescued her is stare at me and protect me!

UMMM RUNS MY A!!! off in the morning walk also...

In many ways I'm no great fan of PeTA. But this video does an excellent job of addressing an important issue. Kudos to them for it...
(even though it tore me to shreds inside to watch it....)

How long will the rubes swallow PETA's self-aggrandizing?

It is true. All the animals killed because most are not adopted.

N'd and Voted, Thanks Cher. We really need to open there eyes, as a species with the power to help....unfortunately somtimes this is the kind of thing it takes ......so it "can't" be denied or ignored anymore....It made me cry, the bag in the car really got me...

Just wanted to add....There are plenty of "shelters" with animals sitting on death row waiting for some compassion and all store sales do is deny them and promote puppy mills...it is time to put and end to store sales!!!!

Voted & noted. Broke my heart watching this, knowing how true it is. Sometimes, it takes some tough reality right in the face to wake, and shake people up. Maybe it will get them thinking a little more, outside their own little world, which is a small, first step for the animals we so dearly love. Thanks, Cher.

Peta may make a video to promote shelter pets as desirable pets. I am not impressed with the bags in this case although this one is much muted graphically.

Noted Sweetie. After reading the posts, I KNEW I COULDN'T WATCH THE VIDEO. I agree with everyone who believes THESE VIDEOS NEED TO BE SHOWN...but I can't even watch adds on the TV. I grasp for air trying to breathe. I didn't vote, because I didn't watch the video. THESE ARE TOO HEARTBREAKING FOR SOME...I FALL INTO THAT CATEGORY.
It's just the way I am. Please forgive me.

Lars~ I am sad and EXTREMELY ANGRY. I do all I can to volunteer, send donation, and adopt more pets than I even have room for. I have taken loans {$2,700 plus} to give medical attention to a cat I adopted that was in full liver failure. I didn't sleep for 7 1/2 months because she required AROUND THE CLOCK CARE. I could {and was told} have returned her for a *new and better cat* but that would be CERTAIN DEATH. I could or would not do that. Even though my vets all said she would certainly die...I wouldn't have it. I had adopted his brother as well. THEY ARE BOTH THE HAPPIEST AND WELL ADJUSTED CATS ON THE PLANET. My ferral NOW COMES IN THE HOUSE, AS HE LOVES HIS BROTHERS. So, you see I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE THESE SWEET BLESSINGS. THEY ARE ALL SO HEALTHY and happy I want another. But I don't want to disrupt their PERFECT HARMONY. So I am adopting a dog! :)

To clarify...I referred Sweetie as she. HE is really a boy but so sensitive I always refer to him as she. When the brothers were ABANDONED, Sweetie did not eat. {Liver failure due to so much weight loss}. I believe HE was so HEARTBROKEN he chose to die by not eating. THESE 2 CATS were obviously well groomed, FAT as can be, had been LOVED SO MUCH. Divorce...man didn't give a poop. Woman had to move in with her 2 young children with her mum in a tiny apt. that didn't allow pets. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT FOR ME. I feel animals are no different then children. WHO WOULD GIVE UP A CHILD FOR ANY REASON?

I don't know if this is relavent to the video...just sharing my ANGER at the UNhumans.

Shelter pets should always be a person's first choice. With Pet Finders.com, there is no excuse for a person not to find the pure breed they are looking for. Recently at my shelter we had a couple drive up from Washington DC to look at a long haired white cat. I'm in NJ mind you. They were looking for months to find the right cat, with the right disposition, etc. They took to Mr. Snow right away, and he's living a great life in Maryland.
All it takes is effort, and patience. My good friend recently got a Westie ?terrier from a horrible mill in Missouri.
The dog was driven through channels, and she picked her up in Penn.

I don't agree with all of PETA's tactics- but this one is perfect- it is totally true. If someone buys an inbred, overpriced puppy mill puppy, that is one less home for a shelter dog.

I think it's a great way to send an important message ! The truth is UGLY , but refusing to see or ignoring it won't change it ! Spay , neuter , adopt ! :)
noted .. Thanks Cher !

I think the words are a bit quick at the end, 'the message' should be on the screen longer, otherwise what is the point? People do not usually study adverts.

If the public 'get it' then it is a good thing.

For any one who is reluctant to watch the video, there is nothing bad, it is just insinuating that there are animals in bags, they are not really there... well, at least I hope not!

Noted and voted, thanks Cher.
