Translation.....

The fight against poachers - a daunting task that requires experience, dedication and sometimes, in conditions even more so when the inspectors often do not have enough fuel for operational raids, spare parts for vehicles, equipment.

In 2010, the Task Force Committee, and inspectors Ongudai and Kosh - Agach regions of the Altai Republic have received support from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Necessary parts were purchased for three cars UAZ and fuel for raids.

" Given that today the Committee, in cooperation with the few members of other environmental agencies - the only regional structure, which opposes poaching in the Altai Mountains, WWF put a condition to support mandatory raids on the habitat of argali and snow leopard - the flagship species of the region, - said Mikhail Paltsyn, Coordinator WWF projects in the Altai - Syaanskom ecoregion. - First of all, Shavlinsky Preserve, Range and adjacent areas Sailugem Ongudai, Kosh-Agach and Ulagansky areas. Protection of these remote areas is problematic without sufficient forces and resources. "

During October - December of this year inspectors with the support of WWF carried out 40 raids on the territory of the activities of Kosh-Agach, Ongudai, Ust-Koksinsky and Maiminsky area only inspectors groups, supported by WWF, in October-December in the territory of the Altai Republic autopsied 30 violations of the Rules of obtaining wildlife ... "seized 26 units of firearms (including 10 units not registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs), revealed the illegal extraction of 5 individuals of roe deer . On the territory of the reserve Shavlinskogo found 3 violations of the rules of fishing, but in general the habitat snow leopard and argali in the Kosh-Agach District - 4 violations .

On the facts uncovered violations 2 criminal cases on 222 of the Criminal Code (illegal possession and carrying of weapons). The best results on the above parameters showed ohotinspektor Ongudai area (18 minutes, 20 firearms, a criminal case).

In 2010, the Committee also signed a cooperation agreement with the recently established public inspection on the protection of the territory of traditional nature management "Oro-Chui" (Kosh-Agach region). Ohotinspektory actively participated in training workshops for inspectors of public men.

"Completely stop poaching - it is impossible, as impossible to eradicate many human vices and passions. But to reduce pressure on wildlife Altai Mountains - an important challenge is essential if we want our children to see argali and musk deer, roe deer, or deer, not only in pictures and in zoos, - says Mikhail Paltsyn . - Therefore, WWF will continue to support anti-poaching activities in the Altai Mountains and in the coming year.
