Any animal that can be let out even in an enclosed backyard should absolutely be micro chipped.

So glad Squeak made it home. I'm just a little leary to get my cats microchipped. Because some of them are getting older, I'm in the vet a lot more and several times there will be people come in with micro-chips that have moved. My vet swears none that he has ever put in has moved, but you can't be so sure.

Yes, microchips are wonderful. It's too bad that I can't afford to have all of my cats chipped, but at a cost of $72 per cat, with 10 cats I'd go broke. Instead I have harnesses w/tags (the safe harness, not figure-8) and keep them indoors.
