Noted ~ Thank you Cher. I have howled for each and every of the 100 beautiful dogs that have given their lives for these humans that should not be allowed to walk this earth. These precious dogs did nothing to deserve what they got. WE need to speak out for them. RIP !!!

Can't hey be sold to other arctic people eg Reindeer herders in Norway and North Russia and those settled near the Arctic circle in China?-Could they be tamed sufficiently to be used to draw small carts at the beggining of the twentieth century such carts existed I think in Holland and probably other places -The animals were used for small carts doing door to door delivery

Shivers and tears filled my entire being! Robert Fawcett should have received a count for every dog he tortured and killed = 56 counts NOT JUST 1 !

Does anyone know what his sentence will be? fine or prison? I would like to know, send me a message please, thanks.

Cher this hurts us all terribly. Our hearts and souls bled with them, and now for them. We must always be their voice and HOWL FOR THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing.

100 Sled Dogs Slaughtered

Yesterday, April 20, 2012, criminal charges were filed in the animal cruelty case that focused international attention on the practices of the sled-dog industry after the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Robert Fawcett, a former general manager with Howling Dog Tours, based in Whistler, B.C., faces one count of causing unnecessary pain and suffering to dozens of sled dogs in April 2010.

Fifty-six dogs were dug up in a mass grave near Whistler after information leaked out in January 2011 through a workers compensation claim of post-traumatic stress disorder.

The charges come after a gruesome search and investigation by the RCMP and the Society for Prevention of Cruelty of Animals.

The B.C. government brought in new protections for sled dogs, establishing legal requirements for issues such as containing animals, euthanasia, their health and working conditions.
