Thanks for raising your voice against the tar sands!
Thanks for sending critical messages to Washington to stop Keystone XL! Can you take one final step today, and spread the word with a more personal and local letter to the editor? - letter for the editor also sent

I have been in two protests and helped to train others for protests and strikes against the Pipeline, I urge others to do the same. We will not be given any awards, or recognition. Just to know that we made the effort to try should be enough.

Thanks Elizabeth but I'm just an ole hippie still fightin' for the dream. I do not know how to NOT be an activist.
And...bad news few hippies were involved with FREE love or drugs. Though I l know the myth will continue, yes we often wore beads, long hair was cool and we worked very hard to do the right thing.

Noted, signed 2 petitions, twittered and google shared. Below is one of the comments I sent, I will also be writing a letter to the editor of my local paper. Thank you Cher for this excellent call for action-again.

This is the single most important decision our country faces today whether you believe in climate-change or not. It anything were to go wrong with the Keystone XL pipeline, it would have the worst impact on our nation than anything else barring a nuclear attack. There is just too much at stake to allow this project to go thru and if you don't stand behind President Obama and Secretary Kerry and show a united front against it, what do you think that will say about you and your commitment to protecting our environment and the health of our planet?

The whole world is watching us right now and we have an opportunity to be leaders in addressing climate-change and showing our determination to reversing the devastating impact we are having on our environment.

Say no to the Keystone XL pipeline.

The probable damage is not worth the immediate monetary gratification.
When the destructive nature of this procedure comes into play, it will be too late.
Do we always have to learn everything 'the hard way'?

{TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT -- MY COMMENT: TAR SANDS -- AS WE KNOW IT TODAY WITH ALL THE RESEARCH AND EVIDENCE IN -- IS A DISGRACE AND SHAME TO MANKIND. TAR SANDS IS A DETRIMENT AND DESTRUCTION TO ALL MANKIND, AND TO ALL THE EARTH, AND ALL THAT IS GOOD THAT LIVES ON EARTH -- FOR NOW AND FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.

THE TECHNOLOGY OF THE FOLLOWING BEING USED IN OTHER COUNTRIES -- WHO LAUGH BEHIND THE USA --
WE CAN GO FULL SPEED AHEAD WITH WOODEN WIND TURBINES, WOODEN WINDMILLS, SOLAR PANELS FOR ELECTRIC ENERGY, SOLAR THERMAL ENERGY FOR HEATING AND COOLING, AND FLOAT AND BOAT WAVE ENERGY, WITH POSSIBLE USE OF THE -- NON-HARMFUL BIO-FUELS -- ALL THESE DONE AS PEOPLE AND EARTH FRIENDLY.}

Signe with another comment:
"{This no tar sands is more a matter of taking good care of the earth and all that lives on earth -- the whole earth. When the USA shows little concern for the earth and all who live on earth -- the USA is going against nature -- or --(if you will the Creator and the creation) and mankind. If we use all solar energy and wooden windmills and on-floats-wood-wave-energy -- then we have all the energy that the whole earth and all mankind will ever need.
Given the alternatives -- tar sands is a disgrace and shame to those men and women who are making the decisions to allow tar sands -- at all. I have never had, and will never have anything to do with the use of tar sands. I am thankful to have had the open door to write this and state this. Sincerely, Ruth Rogers}"
