Launder clothes before wearing them. Give up on following trends, buy the clothes you need. Pay our federal inspectors to keep contaminated clothes out of our stores.

My sister brought one of her kids some pjs from one of our big dept stores here in Australlia.. when she washed the item in warm water (fortunately before the child wore it).. the stench of some chemical was so bad that it gave everyone in the house a headache. She washed and washed this item to no avail.. and ended up taking it back to the store.

Watch out humanity.. the infertility issues are going to get far worst due to these hormone disrupting chemicals everywhere.

China products are dangerous and unregulated. Baby formula and food products for human and animals being the most imminent danger. Try buying any brand name clothes including Tommy Bahama, Rothschild toddlers, Ralph Lauren and more are all manufactured in China. The only chance we have is that China's workers require more and more benefits and maybe the US will bring the products home again. TY for posting Cher Noted.

I try to avoid things that are made in China but it is actually more difficult than it at first seems. Often an item might be assembled elsewhere, in Europe or the USA for example but from parts made in China. Action is needed at Governmental level to ensure our safety.

I avoid things made in China like the plague, but it's becoming more difficult and we end up buying things from there, but I have never had any issues with chemicals. Thanks for sharing, Cher.

Noted, if you smell items for sale, like clothing or dog beds, they often have a really strong chemical smell. Dog and cat beds are most disturbing as they are harder to wash, as they are thicker and contain foam, but please steer clear of these items for both human and animal family members. Thanks for the post, awareness is everything.

China needs to have far safer regulations to protect all citizens and the rest of us from toxins. Otherwise they risk the health of all for economic gain. This also includes western nations as our companies put so many toxins into anything from dish soap to you name it. Time for all countries to be far more cautious when it comes to toxins instead of letting large corporations get away with poisoning us all. Regulations are far laxer in China and they need to get serious.

Not just kids wear - everything we wear that is made in China has chemicals in it, the furniture we buy, the shoes we wear, everything from China is treated with chemicals. What happens when you try to wash it out? Doesn't it then leach into our water supply?

Sad news. I wish that they would stop importing harmful items from China. We don't need to come into contact with their harmful chemicals. Thanks Cher
