One of our teachings via the native ways is to become so in tune to the environment that you realize even the tiny blades of grass that one walks upon is full of life and is special and sacred. One learns to walk more gently upon the grass.

We do so much as humans to disrespect the life around us, those who are even vegan or vegetarian need to be respectful of what they are eating, not just the meat eaters. We all need each other, when we learn to live in harmony with all around us we will thrive in such a wonderful way. Health will improve, people's hearts will grow light, and it will truly be a much more splendid place to live. Right now, the world around, we are seeing all the results of living out of balance.

We live in an interconnected world - the "butterfly effect" - when even one small flap of a butterfly's wings will effect the entire universe, much the same way as a pebble will create rings that spread if thrown in a pond - we are interdependent beings! Thanks for the share.

I am sorry, although we are all connected, I believe that the butterfly effect is overstated, and I remain skeptical of this video.

Having spent a bit of time googling this issue, I come away with reinforcement of my cynical take!
The old story of talking to plants making them "happy," is really about: as you talk yo your plants you are exhaling on them, and they do "love" your exhaled carbon dioxide!
We are connected,, but we are ALSO gullible!!

Very beautiful.....some people think I'm nutty because I talk to my plants, trees and flowers as well as the fey. Whatever you believe or choose not to believe we are all connected and living beings of Mother Earth.

Your not nutty Debbie, and science has unveiled that plants do talk to each other, and therefore send out forces of life that transmit into vibrations. We are all connected nothing is not connected.

On one trip to our planetarium, I learned that cactuses (or cacti, if you prefer), have their likes and dislikes, when it comes to different people.
If they like you, they relax their spikes; if they don't - look out! They will extend their spikes and you could be their target.
Apparently, it has something to do with your scent, your touch, your aura, or something about which we have no idea.

Just remember, just because one cactus doesn't befriend you, another one may.

This reminds me of people, who we describe as having a 'green thumb'.
Our family had a close friend, an elderly woman who lived with us most of her life, who could grow anything. She talked to her plants, continually. It didn't matter what she tried to grow. IT GREW.

I saw a show on PBS showing just how intelligent plants are..they send out warning signals and can even change which pollinators they attract..Since i mostly eat plants now it makes me feel guilty..Ive heard they have nerve endings and feel pain and im to chicken to look it up because i will probably stop eating all

this was really neat..TY!!

This is why the American Indians were not solely vegetarian, they fully did understand that the plants had just as much importance as the fish or the deer or even themselves.

Wow, hey, when your thinking can humble you to the place that you are equal in your importance that you truly are ONE. No higher no lower but as one holding the same rights to life because the same Spirit was in all.

This is why they thanked everything that gave of itself so they could all live. They thanked the plant and deer both, they honored it by also not taking one berry extra, just as they didn't take one extra deer, and one certainly didn't go around just tearing up stuff for the sake of doing so.

So much was lost on their beautiful way of living, had the "boat people" came to these shores and learned instead of trying to change or to kill off, today we'd truly be the beacon of the world. We'd already been with solar energy, we never would of had factory farms and GMO's, this would not have happened.

Very sad.......

Well said Dandelion..
I think the white man was intimidated by a more evolved culture and didnt want to take the time to understand because they didnt care...its all about power, money and greed..

Very sad indeed...

I hope in my next life i go to a planet that has these values...
