I doubt these animals thought it was fun. Even with red cellophane to cover the flashlight beams, it must be frightening to these animals to have the noise of so many people and the light shining in their eyes. One thing to quietly and respectfully view these animals from a distance, it is another to actually invade their privacy and safe places.

Good thinking, Gail! It sounds so educational and fun until you think about it from the animals' perspective....and this is what we humans often forget in our eagerness to show our kids a good time. And do we want to SCARE these animals when the kids SCREAM if they are frightened? This wouldn't be a good way for animals and kids to meet-both are not likely to forget the experience or want to repeat it. Noted/Shared

If you're 1-3 people, quiet and carefuly sneak in the wild, stay into bushes and watch the night wild life activity is one thing. To organize a "party", with too many people, too much noise, too many lights...that's not fun anymore, not for the wild living beings. People are more interested in having fun than in studying the wild life, that's why they surely wouldn't respect the privacy and the "rules" of the wild. Not to mention that everywhere he goes, man is leaving "signs" of his passing by (garbage, bottles, bags, smoke...).
