Southern Sudan's poor infrastructure largely illeterate population and the dearth of health facilities and workers mean that despite five years of peace, HIV programmes are still in their infancy.

I think the need a lot more education on the disease, because it seems no one takes anything serious.. Sad and somewhat ignorant to jeopardize your health for something that is a death sentence.

With virtually no infrastructure to promote education and demote common rape in Southern Sudan, HIV infections are left to go unchecked.

It's good to hear though that Southern Sudan is making attempts to reconstruct efforts towards this goal in making HIV an awareness program...

Awareness is key. And until Sudan's people and the people world-wide are taught about HIV and how to prevent it, there is never going to be a time when we control the disease. I support awareness.
