Another case of the religion, culture card being played in the my rights are bigger than your rights attitude, like small boys in a school yard. About time these narrow minded people clambered out of the past and joined the 21st century. Their energies would be better directed at the disease and poverty levels that require the external aid than moaning about it being used by donors as a weapon of civilisation!. I'm sure the morals and level of propriety probity etc of the makers of such laws would not stand up to close scrutiny!

Well said chris! Thanks for this post - the world would be a better place without organized religion.

I appreciate that countries, like humans, will adapt and evolve at varying rates; however, when you're sitting on the outside looking in it is easy to be incensed by what appears to be incredibly unethical laws. This is why it is so important that we speak up for our people - the people of the world.

What good would a petition do? How many petitions have been filed about persecutions in this country? Gays are treated as second-class citizens by many of the world's governments and religions...they have their gods on their side! African countries have a very poor record on human rights.

Scary that homophobic fanatics in the U.S. want similar laws. Anyone else notice some of the signs displayed at recent hatriot gatherings?

This is absurd! Gay people have the right to be married!

I thank all who support gays and marriage BUT I have to tell you from Florida to NEW York, I have been beaten , or arrested for DUI, all when cops think you are gay. The people coming after us is BAD, when the Police do it... IT turns into a nightmare... Mine lasted for 4 years in Florida, when they beat me within inches of my life. WE need some sweeping overhaul, I honestly don't know where to start..... BUT WOULD LIKE TO TRY!!!
