The floods ravaging Pakistan are generating fears that Taliban insurgents could regroup amid the chaos and destruction. The country's already anemic economy is expected to weaken, increasing poverty that is a factor in the militancy wracking the country.

Only the very naive believe the Taliban will ever go away. They've been well-organized for thousands of years and truly believe that they are defending their homeland.

This is horrible! The Taliban are religious fanatics, who believe in capital punishment for anyone not believing as they do i.e. being Muslim. Defending their homeland Lorraine? They are trying to force their ideology on others, and take women’s right to an education or to work away from them.

FYI: the Taliban movement is less than 20 years old, not thousands
