A corporation.

However the draft....
"Reaffirming that all Israeli settlement activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, are illegal and constitute a major obstacle to the achievement of peace on the basis of the two-State solution..."

the fact that "all Israeli settlement activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, are illegal" has, btw, never been denied even by USrael, but has been confirmed even by Israel's top judges

Hope, this would make a change, considering Israeli Government as the "Good" ones.
Sad about Israeli people, do they deserve "Official Israel"?

I think the U.S. should exchange all the rightwingers who want their own 'extremist land' with the Palestinians and give all of Mississippi to them ..having moved the people from Mississippi to Alabama...and then give them all a pass to go wherever from there. Build a wall around the new rightwing extremist immagents and Israelites,,, and let it go at that.Probem solved.

Many thanks to Wolf for posting this very important article. Thanks very much for Pars. for forwarding this to me. This draft, the US efforts to halt it before sending it to the Security counsel, The US veto which killed the resolution even though the 14 other members of the 15-nation council voted in favor.(Knowing that those Israeli settlements are illegal by the international law) make us realize the real truth of the justice and peace that they claim.

Thanks Wolf and congrats. The American government should hide its head in shame. Citing possible future peace talks as an excuse to veto, is such a 'FARCE' especially after the Leak of the 'PALESTINE PAPERS' BY AL-JAZEERA, wherein it disclosed how Mahmoud Abbas, the corrupt palestinian leader and his lackeys SOLD their OWN people, encouraging more theft of palestinian lands and Al Aqsa Mosque to Israeli and American Peace negotiator, for 'A PACKAGE' or something in return for himself, and, to appease his partners in crime.

Its disgusting REALLY!!!. The palestinian people, the israeli people and the american people should UNITE and STAND UP against such corrupt, rotten, selfish, greedy and power hungry governments, who, are only interested in what they can get for themselves, at the cost of the lives of the masses.

REMOVE THESE CORRUPT GOVERNMENTS!!!

I don't think that this isn't as bad as it seems, there is a silver lining. I posted Netanyahu Should View U.S. Veto at the UN as a Warning [Haaretz] which actually shows that the veto has revaled some fundamental truths which benefit the Palestinians in the long run.

"The Palestinians lost the vote, but achieved their goal: They exposed for all to see the international isolation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's administration and embarrassed the U.S. administration by revealing it as two-faced."

Considering the other votes were in favour of the Palestinian resolution, it clearly demonstrates how isolated Israel and the US are. The US will have no choice but to pull away from its unconditional support of Israel in light of their loss of standing in the International community and begin to apply serious pressure for Israel to fall in line.

I read another very interesting article that stated in pre-Egypt revolution days, the US would have just spoke to Mubarak and have him address the issue with the Palestinians, usually resulting in the Palestinian Authority to bend to the will of the US. Obviously this no longer holds true. Obama asked and asked and asked again for the PA to quash this resolution, but they absolutely refused. Interesting to see how this all plays out.

I agree with most of your posts, and I think we should educate the American people not to elect Jewish to Congress, they all go with a hidden agenda that is hidden very well and use it to give BILLIONS in armament to Israel, armament that they use at will to kill Palestinians, mostly woman and children because they want to reduce the # of "Arabs" in the region.
Congress should stop all the aid to Israel till make some peace, they will never advocate for peace till build and keep all the occupied - stolen- territories.
As long congress is RUN by a 40% Jewish and other 20% in the pocket of the Jewish lobby - there will never be peace.

"give all of Mississippi to them".

Arizona would be more appropriate.

I am not anti Semitic and one of my favorite professors and some good friends are Jewish but I can not think of another country that is continually allowed to redraw it's borders It would go along way to peace in the Middle East if Israel chose to build up rather than out.

Wonderful and fair comments made by all, thank you and I have nothing further to add to the subject. When will anything ever be an eyeopener?! It not this, then what!! Thank you Mary for forwarding and Wolf for posting.
Mary, thank you for saying what I also believe and pray for with all my heart:

"The palestinian people, the israeli people and the american people should UNITE and STAND UP against such corrupt, rotten, selfish, greedy and power hungry governments, who, are only interested in what they can get for themselves, at the cost of the lives of the masses".

WE NEED UNITY IN THE FIGHT OF CORRUPTION AT ALL LEVELS!!!!

Any sentence that starts out as "I am not anti Semitic and one of my favorite professors and some good friends are Jewish" worries me considerably. You shouldn't have to qualify that you are not antisemitic. Criticism of Israel's policy of insanity does not equate antisemitism, no matter how many times the hasbara sheeple accuse you of it.

A two-state solution is possible.

Here's the time line I envision:

2011: Israel starts negotiation toward a two-state solution.

2030: Israel accepts $500 billion to finance withdrawal of Israeli civilians from the West Bank, not counting east Jerusalem and heavily-populated areas contiguous to Israel.

2073: Israel actually withdraws from all of Palestine except for east Jerusalem and about 25% of the west bank, giving Palestine a large chunk of the Negev desert in compensation. The two-state solution has succeeded.

2074: Upon seeing that the independent Palestinian nation is a security threat and a military threat to Israel, and citing terrorist attacks as its reason, Israel invades Palestine. After two weeks of sharp fighting in which essentially every standing building in Palestine gets its air-strike, Israel wins all of Palestine.

2075: After seeing the tremendous costs to Israel of the war and subsequent occupation, the US congress gives Israel $1 trillion and access to previously secret military hardware.

At this point the two-state solution is complete.

Israel is becoming quite the liability to the United States. You want to support a government and military that are busy ethnically cleansing the indigenous population. Where are the Palestinians showing the goal to destroy Israel? All they want is the right to self determination which is a right afforded to all human beings. Instead Israel steals their land, brutally militarily occupies their future state (for 43 years), cages them in a prison, demolishes their houses, shoots them, kills them, punishes collectively the civilian population, controls their movements and denies them their fundamental human rights.

Israel broke a ceasefire, killed 1,400 people, of which over 300 were children, attacked infrastructure, committed grave war crimes and then sealed them up in an open air prison. In the West Bank, you have 500 settlers, protected by 2,000 IDF who stand by useless as the settlers attack, shoot, beat and humiliate the Palestinian population. 2,000 solders to protect 500 armed settlers? WTF?

There is no justification for Israel's treatment of the Palestinian people. Soon, Israel will be standing out all by themselves, because at some point, even the US will not be able to support their actions.

Do you care about human rights at all. No one is violating Israeli human rights, but you want to allow them to treat the Palestinians worse than animals.

If there is a God, I am sure he is weeping at the behaviour of his CHOSEN people.

As far as US leaders need the Votes of the Jews and Zionests they will Veto any act .
Outside the UNSC the US leaders speaks the opposite of what they act inside it ... They talk about human rights but when it comes to the Palestinians they do not care about thier rights they care about the votes on election .. BUSSINESS
It is SHAME playing double face and blindly support the IDF .
