Sold into marriage at age 12, Sahar Gul was chained in the basement, starved, burned and beaten by her in-laws, had her fingernails torn out when she refused to become a prostitute, and was finally admitted to a hospital so broken she was unable to walk.

Thanks to scanty laws against domestic abuse, her abusers are already out prison and the Lower House of the Afghan Parliament just passed a bill banning attackers' family members from testifying to the abuse in court, preventing even more wives and children from getting justice.

We need to reach out to the Upper House to continue its pattern of defeating anti-women legislation, stopping the bill before it becomes law. But if we stay silent, this horrible amendment could slip through the system, denying even more girls like Sahar Gul a way out of their abuse. These girls need our help: Sign our petition to the Upper House now!

PETITION TO AFGHAN UPPER HOUSE: Banning attackers' family members from being witnesses will help abusers go free and send the message that torturing women and children is allowed by law. We urge you to vote "no" to this awful new bill today.

Signed not sure if my signature took as I don't have FB and nothing came up to say it took. This is why I'm in a belief of sending educational supplies not bombs and bullets. Ignorance keeps these people in these positions. Poor child, I hope it receives a lot more signatures than it has.

I am a great believer in education and do not believe that it stops when you leave whichever educational system that you are in.

Over the many years that I have been involved in human trafficking, human rights and paedophilia, I have found that the greatest enemy is Islam and the people that use it to justify their abuses. Because people want to be PC, I am accused of being an Islamophobe and/or a racist. Absolute rubbish. I hate the fact that many people use their religion to justify and support their abuses and one only has to look at how people behave in the Middle East towards non-Muslims to see what I am talking about. The 1 million Jewish refugees from these countries in the 1950s and the current ethnic cleansing of Christians. In other countries too. Then there are the 20 million slaves in the Middle East.

Ben, the most important thing that you can do is to continue to sign petitions, write to the UN representative of these countries, harass your government representative, bring these abominations to peoples' attention and report any abuses that you are aware of to the police. Do not allow Muslims who believe that it is acceptable to rape and abuse get away with it. Do not allow Muslims to believe that they have more rights than anyone else. An example would be their request to have special laws passed to protect their First Amendment rights in America. Why? The current laws protect them equally with everyone else. Tell them so. Come on line and find groups such as RAWA and work with them. It's all out there. Of course not all abuses are committed by Muslims.

So many are confined to this hell. They can only suffer.

Therefore, those of us who live in comparative freedom are provided an opportunity to pay our negative karma by extending love which I define as an active verb.

I still cannot understand how a parent could sell his or her children. Even if it was for food for the family, couldn't the parents search for a decent, humane suitor for their daughters?

Maybe, this is the problem. Maybe Islam does not create decent, humane men.

I honestly would never have conceived the idea of selling my children. I did not even understand Asian betrothals when I was a teenager.
