If this doesn't get Governor Sanford removed from office, I don't know what will. All this taking place in the upstanding, Conservative, Evangelical beltway of the south. Who would've known?

Kristin Maguire's kids apparently won't miss out on well rounded education simply because they're home schooled. Reading, Rriting, Rithmatic, Rotica.

God bless the GOP!

I'm always perplexed that those who are so rabid about family values, and religious beliefs(scripture) are the same into the porn industry, scream for onlt the committed marriage of husband and wife while having affairs like rabbits, and as far as sharing with others can only scream "mine, mine" when they hear some public money will go for the homeless, food kitchens..
Thanks Marion for posting.

Me too Laurie. They are usually quick to point the finger at anyone else all the while living in sin their self.

If this woman actually has time to hold done a job as Chairwoman of theState Board of Education, homeschool her children, and write hard core porn, well more power to her!

I wish I was that organized.

Gov. Sanford was a darling of the gop as a presidential hopeful but not anymore. He should be removed from office for what he has done. It would be better if Sanford stepped down, for otherwise, he may be impeached...

TY, Marion.

Non-prudish sex education in Cuba results in much less teenage pregnancies and sexual disease than in the prudish USA.

Another RepubliCON woman trying to emulate Lynne Cheney

I wonder if Scooter Libby and Lynne Cheney collaborate writing dirty novels? .... Is bear- rape porn really weirder or sicker than tentacle-rape porn? ...

Jim...Which may explain the large number of ignorant people at out of control town hall meetings.

Laurie...Uh-huh, do as I say...not as I do.

Jim...Sanford will have to be dragged out, kicking and screaming.

Simon...Bingo! Which also leads to greater rapes, incest and perversions. The USA has an unhealthy outlook toward sex, which causes serious psychological problems throughout our society.

Blue...You had to go there. Well, now that you mention it...

Our dollars at work for us.

Thank you all for the great comments!

Usually, a conservative view is a defense to hide a person's baser instinctual desires. Priests act very conservative, but many are child molesters. From the slew of evangelists who ended up in zombie porn movies both hetero and homosexual, we can judge the leaders to be the most defensive and historically the most perverted.

Internet porn "zombie porn" is a technological lover that is dead or lifeless, while at the same time generating vivid fantasies. The problem with that is related to fantasies replacing the real world relationships. The governor has done just that. Why would a critically thinking person have an affair with a fantasy zombie porn star and think it wouldn't matter to his followers? The answer is many of them are just like him. No fidelity, no healthy sexuality in their real relationships, no reality to comfort them, so they seek out their fantasies.

I think this is the problem with the entire conservative movement. It is like a group of repressed nuns and den mothers meet the monks. Everybody is so repressed that they end up drooling over the opportunity to "sin." To be bad. It is being bad that is the thrill. When the thrill of risk and being bad and naughty wears off their partner is no longer a fantasy and the relationship becomes real and boring and repressed AGAIN. So, this pattern of triangle relationships and infidelity and perverted sexuality cycles over and over again with a manic rhythm.

One flew over the Conservative's Nest...

Unfortunately the Internet is rife with porn and exploitation...every taste seems to be catered for from the mundian to the outright weird but it all has the common theme of abuse and exploitation. Let us be aware that porn merchants are never poor men and drive the best cars...personally I would prefer to drive my older car with a clear conscious...but even the best of us have found our fingers hovering above a forbidden button...all in the interests of research might easy it is to deceive our own hearts...I try to think of the people involved in the trade and ask what if that were my child/grandchild...the finger never hovers for long...please don't smack me for being honest...temptation is part of the human condition and we often need divine assistance to resist just having a peep.
Happily by my stage of life I seem to have lost my interest in such that maybe a blessing or just another lost function as the aging process takes hold.
Lastly i am reminded of two sayings by Jesus...Do not judge or you will be judged ...and...let him/her without sin caste the first always with his words I walk away with my head a little lower but hopefully a little more wisdom between the ears.

Once upon a time I would have been surprised. Nothing surprises me anymore. Most politicians can be summed up in 2 words; hypocrites and criminals!!

Its more the hippocricy that troubles me..if people wanted to engage in their own non-exploitative porn (which rarely exists mind you),then I have no problem with that..the problem is the economic and mostly (but not always ) gendered nature of most porn.
When people spout family morality whilst engaing in sex with very young people (like one Repug prior to the last election)..or preach homophobia whilst visitting rent boys for cocaine and sex sessions (like one right wing preacher )..then I am seriously troubled.
I wish people were more honest and consistent..and that the world was less built on exploitation.

I'm Not surprised (or impressed with her "alleged" writings).. but I love one comment on the article: "I don’t care nearly as much about her online fantasy activities as I do about the fact that the Governor appointed someone who disdains public education and home schools her children to the Board of Education. WTF?"
I agree!!!

Another chapter in the
story of Sanford & Sin.
This guy is such a right-wingnut,
I'm amazed he got elected to govern
South Carolina.....also, frightened
that he was consider a presidential
possibility in '12. Sometimes we get
lucky, tho, and we dodged a bullet here
for sure when Sanford basically "outed"
Shame on me, I know, but it always feels so
good when these conservative-types get shown
up to be the hypocrites that they are!
Thank you kindly, Marion!
noted. :-)

Good comments. I guess we all agree Sanford is a hypocrite, hands down.

Tim...Yep, we lucked out again, but we have plenty more of these conservatives running the country in the ground who are masquerading as "good, upstanding, Christians with wholesome values."

Word on the street is the republicans are not supporting Sanford in this latest scandal...and he's still not stepping down.

I wonder if I'm the only one to have actually read the samples of "erotic fiction" given in the article. Here they are, in case you missed it:

Editor’s Note: These are samples of the erotic fiction written by “Bridget Keeney,” who is alleged to be S.C. Board of Education Chairwoman Kristin Maguire. Please note that these documents contain EXCEEDINGLY GRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS OF SEXUAL ACTS and as such are NSFW – or NOT SAFE FOR WORK.

“Continental Cuisine“

“Lauren’s Masturbatory Musings“
Aside from being "Not Safe For Work" {of course you shouldn't be reading this on the BOSS'S time!}, I find this to be harmless, boring, repetitive, and very typical stuff. Not ALL porn is "exploitative" or involves children, sado-masochism, or other forms of exploitation. The second one for example, is a blow-by-blow graphic description of ordinary but enthusiastic sex, between a husband and a wife. The first one, is a blow-by-blow {sic} description of sex between 3 consenting adult strangers on a train {a European train with private compartments}. BIG DEAL! Some people spend tons of time reading that sort of stuff. I got over that, the idea of indulging in "the forbidden", a LONG time ago.
The point here, is not that there is anything innately "bad" or harmful in THIS kind of "erotic fiction" or porn. {Unlike the exploitative kind of porn.} {It is just BO-RING; at least, to me it is!}

The point is, the UTTER HYPOCRISY of someone using a powerful political position, to DENY SEX EDUCATION to teens who will THEREFORE, INEVITABLY have a HIGH RATE OF UNWANTED PREGNANCY AND SEXUALLY-TRANSMITTED DISEASES, because of being KEPT IN IGNORANCE.
Yes, and ALSO the UTTER HYPOCRISY of being in charge of Public Education when she HOMESCHOOLS HER OWN KIDS; showing that she could CARE LESS about Public Education!
BOTH counts are simply DIS-QUALIFYING for that Public Office!

Barbara Tomlinson (431)

The HYPOCRISY of indulging in gloopy delirious public sex-fantasies herself {not for money, I think? just for the vicarious sexual thrills of seeing her alter-ego author's name in print on the Internet, "connecting" with an imagined salivating audience?}; and then wanting to CONTROL ADOLESCENTS' SEXUALITY THRU AUTHORITARIAN MEANS, FEAR AND PUNISHMENT. There is a big, big DIS-CONNECT IN LOGIC, here.

A dis-connect in LOGIC; but, as we all know, this apparently out-of-control secret hidden sexuality DOES in real life, go along with a brittle public facade of "uprightness" and "conventional morality". Those who publicly hate gays the most, turn out themselves to be gay in {they hope!} well-kept secret.
I hope they are ALL outed, every single one of the HYPOCRITES! It is a real Public Service to do so! as the "former friend" did, who outed this porn author!
They HATE, HATE, HATE those of us, gay or straight, who are OPEN about sex, including OUR sexual feelings; when they have been taught by an authoritarian religion, and probably authoritarian parents, priests, and teachers of a bygone era {no doubt THEMSELVES equally hypocritical about THEIR sexuality!} to DENY, DENY, DENY. They find themselves in this bind that CANNOT BE RESOLVED.

BMutiny...Thank you for going in deep on the article. I is not the supposed erotic, sexual content of her material that is wrong. It is the hypocrisy of it all. She and Sanford base their political careers on a platform opposed to what they are doing and how they live their lives under cover. They live a lie.

Most of us, like you, could care less what people do behind closed doors. But public figures, especially political and religious leaders, cannot guide citizens effectively if they are not who they say they are. We have no idea where the truth is in what they say.

What's the matter with South Carolina?

With two shouted words during the president's speech to Congress Wednesday night, Congressman Joe Wilson cemented South Carolina’s status as the geographic center of opposition to the Obama White House. Full Story »

Its governor, Mark Sanford, led the charge of Republican governors against the Obama economic stimulus plan and made national headlines by arguing that the administration’s excessive spending could lead to an economic collapse on the scale of Weimar Germany. Sanford, in fact, persisted in rejecting Recovery Act funding until a court ordered him to back down.

Anyway you look at These kinds of people are coming out of the wood work.
No respect for others for self and less for the President of the U.S.

These kinds of people have the perfect excuse No one would stop and think "Maybe being racist can cloud (cover up my sins and no one will see)

These kinds of people are a dime a dozen

That is ashame for our country We all have the right to do as we please like speak our mind. Health Care is a right But with rights come responiblity and that is what people can not see

Mamabear true!! Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) Proves Republicans Are Assholes. And he proves that South Carolina is loaded with racists. They never got over the emancipation of slaves and using blacks to build "their" country and land.

What could possibly possess Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) to lose all respect for the office of the President of the United States to say to President Obama "You Lie!" in an extraordinary breach of decorum and protocol at the Joint Sessions of Congress?

Could it have something to do with the fact that Rep. Wilson's top campaign contributions come directly from health care professionals, the insurance industry, Big Pharma and lobbyists who work for them bringing direct cash his way?

The elephant in the room is raci$m. With all that Rep. Joe Wilson stands to lose, it is the deep rooted raci$m in the south at seeing a black man as president telling Wilson his gravy train is over that sent this idiot over the edge. Had this been a white man as president telling him the same, I doubt this outburst would have occurred. How dare a black man call him a “liar” for his lies and threaten to call him out on top of that! Wilson was right when he said he lost it. These are the same idiots who say “We want OUR country back!”

You can fill in the blanks as to how these people want their country back...

Keith Olbermann strikes back telling Wilson "You're wrong!"

Until we clean up Congress, we will see more of these corrupt, immoral idiots shaming themselves and America.
