All right on the money. What struck you about the contrasting demeanors of accuser and accused also struck Anita Hill (and she would know.)

Definitely food for thought. My main concern at this point is trying to get government back to governing instead of watching 2 parties try to destroy the country.

Dr Ford is a very brave woman. I applaud her for telling her story at great personal cost, knowing that it will likely not make a difference.

It's hard to believe that anyone who watched that despicable display by KavaNope would consider him worthy of confirmation. Grassley and Graham were equally revolting. :(

So far, i'm happy that Senator Flake has pushed forward with an FBI investigation.

Absolutely stunning — Kavanope’s deplorable deportment! Poisonous snakes show less venom. His parents must be very proud!

Somebody made a comment to me earlier today that Kavanope is under attack and very stressed, to which my reply was “And so was Dr Ford who kept her composure. So what is your point?”. I got no reply.

And as to Ford’s father’s refusal to publicly support his daughter because his country club might rescind his membership, too bad we are stuck with our relatives. However we can chose our friends and spouses.

What a lowlife her father is!

Poor little rich frat boy . . . NOT!!!

I can't add anything, except to say, his behavior, his intro, and aggressive manner was appalling.
I believe Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. Such a brave woman.
Love the picture of Hillary and kava side by side. That says alot.
The lights on the building is spot on!
The Jesuit-run Georgetown Preparatory School, Yale University, and the American Bar Association are all urging that Kavanaugh’s nomination be opposed or slowed down too.

Thank you, Nameless for post, and Joanne for cross posting.

Flake's calling for an investigation gives us more time to pressure our Senators. Keep calling, e-mailing, tweeting, mailing postcards - don't let up! I call my Senators daily, and call both local and D.C. offices. An extreme right-wing SCOTUS will be a disaster for the U.S.

Agree with so many above comments.
I have been doing my best to pressure these senators. Will continue to do so too,
Thanks Joanne

Most excellent summary of the impressions and feelings the hearing left sane people with, Nameless. I was especially appalled by his crocodile tears when he tried to turn himself into the victim. That poor privileged white male, so harshly persecuted by those lefties, trying to deprive him 0f his dream job…

Classmate: Kavanaugh drank heavily!

Liz Swisher, former Yale classmate of Brett Kavanaugh, told CNN's Chris Cuomo she never saw Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh be sexually aggressive, but said that he lied to the Senate Judiciary Committee about his drinking habits.

".... he was always one of the beer drinking boys, there's no problem in drinking beer, the problem is lying about it! He drank heavily, he was a partier, he played drinking games, HE WAS A SLOPPY DRUNK!"

Woop, Woop!!!!

Joanne - thanks also for the link to the article about Anita Hill ...

And a good article, too - double thanks!

I do so hope that a concerted effort will get many more women into government - because membership of too many committees addressing critical issues that impact more on women than men (reproductive health, family health, sexual harassment etc) are overwhelmingly male - and women's perspectives on less gender-weighted issues are often different from men's, so even 'neutral' issues SHOULD have gender balance in membership ...

Lynn's point about her father is spot-on, and sad! His damned club is more important than his daughter?
Kavanaugh was first appointed to the bench by G.W.Bush, who is lobbying people to support the nominee...another POS! Always was, always will be!

My thought on all of this is that the all-male Republican contingent couldn't stand that a mere woman (Rachel Mitchell), even one of their choosing, was questioning a man, much less a man who was their guy. One of the moments when their honking misogyny was even louder than their racism.

So, we are on the cusp of nominating a partisan, misogynistic, self centered, entitled liar with anger management issues for a life time position as one of nine harbingers of justice for the worlds leading democracy.

I can't state in polite company what I think of those who nominated him and support him for this nomination. It is less troubling that such people exist than that there are an abundance of individuals that we have given power to who have looked the other way or disregard his attributes in favor of what other higher goals or virtues? That is terrifying. We have some deep problems...….

I believe Dr. Ford. Calm and respectful during her testimony. Yay!

I do not believe Brett Kavanaugh. Shouting, angry and disrespectful during his testimony. Ugh!

Excellent comments above from the commentators.!

“If Kava-NAH is confirmed, I fear it will take at least a generation to undo the damage the two of them would wrought.” Nameless is right but I think it would take more than a generation to undo the damage both Drumpf & Kava-NAH may have wrought!! Sigh…
