Thank you all for signing. One result of allowing Corporations person hood, is manifest in the results of this last election. Those who big money elected now demand austerity which benefits only the rich and harms in real ways, the poor, the old, the challenged, the children...on and on. Today, this result, came my way as we got notice in my little town of NYC, that many Senior Centers shall close. One of them which will close, I have worked in for years now. I now am living more than ever within and under that which was created which elected heartless fools to office in such numbers. The faces of my seniors today broke my heart, as I know for them this center is a lifeline and they are frightened with good reason by its closing. This is what all that Corporate money bought.

Signed and Noted. Thank you Carole. The Opposition here wants to get rid of corporate voting here in Australia as none of the people pay towards the Political parties like you do in America. Yet we're doing fine at the moment, although I also think Labour is only paid by the Unions and the Opposition I haven't get a clue. I'm reading a book on the History of Australia right now.

Democracy is a global issue. All constitutions must be amended to reflect and creat means that assures that"Corporations are not people. Democracy is for people"I am not an American citizen but I am pro real democracy world wide. Thanks for the post Robert.

My personal belief (within my fantasy in which any of this actually matters), is that we should have valid and verifiable signatures in our effort to amend the American Constitution, and that enthusiasm misguided may render an effort null and void. Just a thought.

Abdessalam, I do agree that our effort here in the U.S., reflects and is in fact part of a global issue which will have to be addressed by a coalition of nations, each maintaining their own sovereignty, while acting together to fight a common enemy, i.e., Multinational Corporations who's vision for themselves is a race to the bottom for the working world, erasing borders, creating a common misery defined by class, and class, defined only by wealth. The Republic was designed to protect the few from the tyrant of the many. NOT to render the voice of the many inconsequential, making them slaves of the few.

Darn skippy, I signed and noted! Thanks for posting this, Robert. I agree that this is a global issue for the reasons already mentioned above. I believe and stated on the petition that until these "people" are subject to the same laws that I am as an individual, such as oh, contribution limits and full disclosure, jay-walking, illegal dumping, or murder, I will not accept a corporation to be a person. If a corporation is a person then a if single member of that "corporate body" commits a crime, every shareholder, CEO, officer and laborer should be held accountable for the crime and prosecuted for it.

I think that Supreme Court decision was obscene. A constitutional amendment might be the only way to overturn it but, I don't see the republicans going along with it, after all, this is the way they get most of their campaign backing.

Democracy is for rich people, not us peasants. The republican creed is "Give us more, tax us less." No loving God would tolerate what is happening on the SCOTUS. These five fascist call themselves Christians also. So much for Christianity.

Signed. I believe we have a corrupt U. S. Supreme Court who is only interested in carrying out the agenda of the Republican Party.

Im definitely in favor of a constitutional amendment to correct this free licensed coup of American Democracy, but Im even more a believer that, impeachment proceeding against some of the current seated Judiciary must be given equal, if not greater attention.

Signed & noted. This should be a "no-brainer", but that's making a HUGE assumption about our "public servants". I'm also in favor of a few SCOTUS impeachments, but with the current crop of corporate whores in the Senate, I'm not optimistic about either. In MY perfect world, the presidency of GWBush would be declared invalid, along with all his judicial appointments AND their rulings. IMO, the time lost and the expense would be well worth it. I know that's only a dream... but maybe someday, the people of this country will FINALLY realize that they have been made fools of by the oligarchs, unite against the common enemy, dust off their Bangles albums and Walk Like Egyptians.

Lemoyn, Impeachment though I believe perfectly suited to the actions of more than one Justice, has never been accomplished, so I've read. Once only, with imperfect (almost no) result coming from the attempt.

Jon S, I'm with as to wishes. The go back machine comes to mind. Bush...don't get me started.

Perhaps when those who attempt to make the humility and candor of Obama's few apologies into something bad, we will have grown to fit our ego's perception of our nation, and can start to move wisely and not simply with might, easily fooled by jingoists and thieves wrapped in flags chanting were number one when the truth is often 35 and loosing ground every day.

We are betrayed as often is the case, by those who pat us on the back so we will like them, rather than telling us the truth because they care. The Repugs and many in their stable, have largely abandoned our nation to those who now demand they be allowed to purchase outright and own, whats left after they have stolen almost all. And the Repugs aim to sell it to them. Yes, the Dems are also tempted, but need us to hold power. We must persuade them they need us more than Multi national corporate money which Repubs are awash in, or the thin line between Dem/Repub dissipates and gone revealing climax capitalism/ Oligarchy.

Just sayin. :?/
