Mia H. Thanks for this information. Posted it into New Group called, 'Animal Information.'

Awesome information. I hope it may help more people to be informed and continue to help many animals. One day people must learn to respect other life forms other than those they have a dirrect interest in...other than for use, abuse, consumption and other forms of profit.

yerh, check this out Mia and everyone. Just posted it now.

Thank you Anne for sharing this to other sites! You are right, according to them, the most of the locals consider dogs as unclean for religious reasons... I understood that the local muslims are not allowed to touch dogs... If you go on the site and read about the dogs for adoption, there are many interesting rescue stories. I am very tempted to go and volunteer there some time in the future, at least for some months, will have to see if it is possible financially. I told them about a black stray dog I saw in the capital Saladan, the dog had severe skin problems, big parts of the fur were missing and he was scratching himself all the time. They immediately recognized which dog I was talking about and told me that they have been trying to catch him for several weeks. Hope the dog gets help soon.

Have cross posted on other web sites. Its people and organizations such as these that give us hope. So sad we can't say the same for governments who give no value to animals what so ever and are part of the problem of animal cruelty.

Thank you Mia.

Thank you so much, Natividad, Animalib, Michele and Rosemary!! I'm also going to contact the hotel we were staying at on Koh Lanta and ask them politely if they could consider supporting this charity. I was horrified to see a cock fighting farm spotted on the map they had at the reception and some advertisements of a place for tourists where monkeys were doing all kinds of "funny" tricks, riding small bicycles aso...

Noted. Anything being done to prevent people from going over with their animals and abandoning them? Poor animals.

Thank you so much everyone! I wanted to spread information and maybe get some donations to this charity after I return home. They are the only ones helping strays on the island (naturally many tourists help too) and do not have easy time trying to change attitudes (I asked them if they go and talk in schools, but they said they are not welcome because people are afraid that they start talking about dogs...). I wish all the best to this small charity and will absolutely continue to donate to them in the future.

I can imagine how the animals suffer in Asian countries, but then on the other hand, animals suffer just as much all over this planet. Why do they suffer, because there are people on this planet who are not HUMAN.
