A woman in Toronto, Canada, has been charged with criminal mischief after she gave water to pigs being transported to a slaughterhouse on a hot day. Anita Kranjc, 48, could face up to 10 years in prison for her actions.

Just insane. I'm keeping faith common sense prevails+nothing of the sort happens+just community service tho i believe she shouldn't even be getting that. thx Scooby

Jeez, I see nothing wrong with her giving water to the pigs. Anyone that transports animals should be providing them with food and water during their trip. I don't give a rat's a** if they are being taken to a slaughterhouse, they should still be provided with water and most especially when it is a hot day. And, don't the prosecutors and courts have better things to do with their time and taxpayer money than take this woman to court over giving water to pigs? Pure craziness.

Evidently it was a slow day for police and the court system there...maybe they're trying to rack up court fees?
