i walk in the hills daily & i haven't seen any & there's definitely none in the city.
We've been taught from an early age to stomp the ground while bushwalking, that usually scares them away.

Makes me glad there aren't many snakes where I live. There are venomous ones to be found in lakes and rivers but what might be seen in the yard are typical garter/garden snakes. I got locked out of the house when I was a teenager for trying to bring one in. Mom absolutely hated snakes. Venomous snakes are the only ones I really don't want to run into.
