Close to 25 percent of children in the 1896 study learned the truth about Santa from their parents, compared with 40 per cent in 1979. Those who didn't find out from their parents learned the truth from other children.

The answer to that question will probably be found to be that while Santaís magical powers are limited godís magic is said to have complete control over everything. Further, in the case of Santa parents openly and freely admit that the whole idea of Santa is a hoax while the myth of god is perpetuated by religion even though logic tells you that no benevolent god would permit the injustice, suffering, hate, wars, starvation, birth defects and all of the other ills that plague this world. It also provides a convenient out for not accepting responsibility for things that happen; they can always blame god as they do with the phrase ďItís godís will.Ē
