The result of unforeseen accidents at nuclear plants can be deadly, disastrous with the after effects that can often continue for years to come.

This is a horrible mess which is destroying far too much. Why are we letting this go on? This should be adressed regardless of what price it costs!

This situation is truly worthy of the name 'disaster', yet seems to receive almost no coverage in the U.S. press. Pres. Obama needs to drop his "all of the above" policy towards meeting our energy needs. Nuclear power has never been safe--when something goes wrong, it goes very, very wrong! The risks (and the costs) are too great. But there are huge sums of money involved, the corporate profits are too great, for our government to take the sane position and transition away from dirty and dangerous forms of energy. The corruption will never end, until we get all the corporate cash out of our election system. Until we do, the corporations will run our government and our media from behind the scenes here in the U.S., the same way that they have in Japan during this accident.
