While many people are hoping the defendants in the Michael Vick dogfighting case get some serious prison time, as the judge in the case has implied they might -- others are saying, "What's the big deal? The victims are just dogs."

Anyone saying "What's the big deal? The victims are just dogs" should be permanently prevented from having a pet of any kind.

Agreed, Blue . . . I'm probably the only one on Care2 who never saw the documentary before, but yesterday I watched "Dealing Dogs."

I dare anyone to see the unnatural way these dogs were acting after being rescued and: 1) have a dry eye; and 2) question whether dogs have emotions.

The comments added to the story by the public make for interesting reading. The photo with my name is of my beloved Molly. A previously abused dog she has many, many issues and will not tolerate other people or animals in her life. Who knows what she thinks - but she has a great many fears I know. All I can do is love her unconditionally and try to restore some of her faith in humankind. Failing all else a good tummy tickle can definitely make her happy!
