Very evident and sadly true. God has taken a back-seat to political correctness.

Well, I actually think that Church and State should be absolutely separate - I am a staunch believer in Secular Humanism as the basis for any Society - despite being quite religious myself.

I think all this is just silly really. All people are entitled to the Rights set forth in the UDHR - regardless of their religion.

Not if they - especially the Muslims - try to impose their believes and force down the throats of others - mainly the host nation. You don't make demands on your host - but accept the host's hospitality graciously and most of all THANKFULLY.

I am not so sure it's their religious beliefs that those rather small groups of Radical Extremists want us to adopt, but rather a their political beliefs. Besides the idea that Muslims try and force others to become Muslims is an utterly false notion which is based in the black and white rendering of distorted History of the Middle Ages. In fact, if we want to see a religion that has really forced people, at sword point, to convert, we need only to look at the Church and it's history from 313 CE till the present.

Radical Extremists, be they Xian, Jewish or Muslim are very rarely about religion, but about politics and power - admittedly they use religious language to present and further their ideas. The Church of England does and has done exactly that in the past f.i against the Roman Catholics.

If we want to stop small groups of extremists, we need to look beyond their sectarian language, expose their political aims and educate the public about those aims - an educated public is much less easy to dupe.

We also have to remember that extremists do not represent the majority of f.i Xians or Muslims.

If we accept that as true, we have a whole other base for dialog and empowerment of those who are not represented by the extremists to stop or at least slow down a recruitment.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you Henric in regards to forced conversion per se. If a woman marries a Muslim, she is forced to convert even tho the Q'ran says that a Muslim mand can marry any "WOMAN OF THE BOOK" without having to convert. (most women do not know this fact and go ahead with the conversion) Next there is the FACT that if a married man converts to Islam from any other religion and there are children - including babies - the man can convert them without the consent of the wife/mother. Yet the Q'ran states that a person must know what they are doing and must be of the age of reasoning and convert of their OWN FREE WILL. Yet time and again a mother loses her children because of this. Unless the wife/mother converts as well (no free will here) she will most certainly never see her children again. This is just one small example of conversion by force and it is happening everywhere, every day and THAT IS A FACT. If you want to know why I am so sure of MY FAcTS, ask me privately and I will tell you.

Marena,

She's not forced to convert - she can choose not to have a relationship with a Muslim man - there's no force, no-one is holding a gun to her head. Islam doesn't force conversion, no more than any of the other Monotheist Religions

I would like to share the the FACT that the same rules goes for Xians from the area of the Middle East, as well as the ENTIRE Catholic Church. Just for the record - Orthodox Judaism has the same rules - except the rules follow the woman, not the man. I.e if a child is born of a Jewish Mother, it's Jewish. Also to marry a Jew you have to be Jewish.

Your statements are Islamophobic, Marena - facts or not - you are singling out Islam and Muslims, and disregarding the fact that ALL Monotheist Religions have those rules.

I don't need to know where you are getting your "facts" as they are not "facts", but xenophobic rubbish, motivated by hatred for Islam and Muslims.

SoB
