Kilo, the pit bull, has been hailed a super-pooch after he took a bullet to protect his owner and survived, New York Post reports. Over the weekend, an armed intruder and would-be burglar -- posing as a FedEx delivery man -- attempted to push his way in.

Animals are natural heros, again and again and again they give their lives and/or risk their lives to save another's life, not only of their own but of another species including the primary enemy of animals....humans.

Take the spiritual qualities offered by almost any spiritual path and you'll find the animals exemplify humility, devotion, forgiveness, love, name them one by one and you'll recoginize a saint before you're done. Or, perhaps, an angel who humbly left their wings in heaven.

Yet again I see an amazing example of what animals do for us, and I think for the millionth (or so) time, what an amazing world this would be, if humans had the qualities of animals. Kilo, I salute you. Rosi Caswell Animal Whisperer Therapist
