After several days of small-scale demonstrations ahead of Obama’s visit, Palestinians organized two larger events Wednesday morning as the American president landed at Ben-Gurion Airport.

About 500 people rebuilt 15 tents on privately owned lands in the new village-outpost of “Bab Al-Shams,” located at the heart of the much controversial E-1 area, where Israel intends to build thousands of new settler houses, isolating Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank and cutting it in two. Bab Al-Shams was originally set up a few months ago, and dismantled by Israeli police several days later. Activists in the new Bab Al-Shams held signs saying “you promised hope and change – you gave us colonies and apartheid.”

Meanwhile in Hebron, Israeli army forces arrested about 30 schoolchildren, at least five of whom were between the ages of 8 and 10 and thus under the age of criminal responsibility, according to B’Tselem. The children were accused of having participated in acts of stone throwing.

Later in the afternoon a group of some 25 Palestinians, internationals and Israelis marched on Shuhada Street in Hebron, where freedom of movement has been restricted for Palestinians, and the street has been open only to Israelis for the past 12 years. The activists, who were following up on a Saturday workshop on civil rights in the U.S., wore “I have a dream” T-shirts and masks with the faces of Obama and Martin Luther King Jr., and carried signs connecting the fight for civil rights in the American South to that of Palestinians against apartheid. Activists sang “Woke up this morning with my mind set on freedom,” when a group of settlers started to attack them. Soldiers who swiftly arrived on the scene reportedly zoomed in on the prominent local activists, arresting four Palestinians, three internationals and two Israelis, who were later released.

The approaches Palestinian activists took to Obama’s visit were varied. Demonstrations in Ramallah (and Bab al-Shams) called on Obama not to come at all, and many blame the U.S. government for its cooperation with the Israeli occupation. The demonstrators in Hebron employed a more “welcoming” approach, asking that Obama remember the history of racism in the U.S. and implement the lessons learned there, for the benefit of Palestinians here today.

How brave and how contemptible arresting thirty children.

That was ertainly wrong, yes Munro, but nevertheless I wish the protests had been a little more peaceful..
The stone throwing must end, too,-even if one can understand their anger, frustration and disappointment.

Beth asked me to post this for her:

Ouch, hmmm?

Palestinian parents tell their youths to throw rocks at soldiers there to protect the President and his entourage.

Any other parents telling their kids to throw rocks at people would have their children taken away for reckless endangerment, but not these Palestinian parents. No, they encourage their children to throw lethal projectiles at the Israelis so that their children can die “glorious martyrs.”

And if they can’t be proud of their children’s deaths – my how they blow up so quickly -- at least they got their kids to bait Israelis and try to make them look bad for the cameras.

Well folks, *****ROCKS KILL*****. They’ve been used for thousands of years to do just that. So lets look at the news and see how rocks have been used lately:

March 15th: “18-Year Old Stoned To Death In Somalia For Being Gay”

Yep, Muslims throwing rocks at a poor 18 year old just because he was gay, and guess what? It killed him. But that’s okay, right? Because they were Muslims, right?

And here’s another one:

Beautiful 2-year-old Adele Biton is in critical condition following a PALESTINIAN rock attack on her mother's car that also left her sisters injured.

Wow, those brave Palestinians throwing rocks at a mommy driving her little kids in a car! But it’s okay, because we don’t have such high expectations for Palestinian behavior. But if an Israeli did the same exact thing to a Palestinian? Whoa, whole different story, hmmm.

Maybe you’d like to be at the receiving end of rock throwing and tell us what you think about it.

No other religion encourages the sort of hatred and senseless violence toward those outside the faith as does Islam.

Did anyone notice that Palestinian "child" is as big as big as the soldier, and it looks like the "child" might even be an inch taller that the soldier.

Those Palestinians are sure growing some monster kids -- in more ways than one!

Patricia, no, you're actually the only one who mistakes the protester in the image, wearing a MLK mask for a child.
You'd know better if you had visited the site and article.

Very strange, don't you think?

The arresting of 30 or so children seems to be the "centerpiece" of this article, and yet NO photos of children being arrested?

Someone's camera on the fritz? Everyone's camera on the fritz? Somehow that didn't get taken or put in the article? That's a little too unbelievable.

No matter what anyone thinks of Obama's policies, I feel we must all applaud his bravery for coming to the region and risking his life to meet with all groups. It was very much appreciated Mr Obama.

Patricia, I have no idea what you mean by "camera on the fritz" but apparently you are unable to tell children apart from adults, I saw enough children and youth in the video.
The selected image for the post fits the headline precisely and that's what this post is about.

All of you Israel/Jew haters will applaud these comments:

Fathi Hammad, political leader for Hamas, appointed Interior Minister 2009, director of al-Aqsa TV (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fathi_Hamad)
"For the Palestinian people, death has become an industry, at which women excel, and so do all the people living on this land. The elderly excel at this, and so do the mujahideen and the children. This is why they have formed human shields of the women, the children, the elderly, and the mujahideen, in order to challenge the Zionist bombing machine. It is as if they were saying to the Zionist enemy: 'We desire death like you desire life.'" ("Video: Hamas uses civilians as a means to achieving military goals". ‘The Jews have become abhorred and loathed outcasts, because they live off corruption and the plundering of the peoples – not only the Arab and Islamic peoples, but all the peoples of the world. The world has begun to be aware of this corrupting danger, and to applaud Hamas. The entire world says: "Bravo, Hamas, for confronting these people of corruption"...Hamas will receive its means of survival, its arms, and its supporters from where it is least expected, because the hatred for the Jews is on the rise, and people who hate the Jews find no [other] way to fulfill their hatred of the Jews and of the Americans – the Americans too have become abhorred throughout the world, because of their corruption, for they are led by the Jews’ (on: Hamas Interior Minister Fathi Hammad: The Americans and the Jews Are Abhorred Worldwide; The Americans Are Led by the Jews, "Outcasts Who Live Off Corruption and Plundering", MEMRITV, December 14, 2010, Clip No. 2734.)

The Palestinian terrorists have been killing their own children and blaming it on Israel and the cowards also use them and the elderly as human shields. Where is your so-called 'Liberal' outrage over this sickening cowardice:

If someone throws a rock at your head it can kill you whether it's thrown by a child or an adult.
Today's rock throwers are, sadly, tomorrow's suicide bombers.

These kids should be in the safely of their own homes with their parents instead of provoking Israeli soldiers.

Fred Taub sums it up
Bigots have two things in common.
First, they blame others for their own shortcomings.
and secondly They claim to be better because others are worse. It is a depression mentality that some try to fix with the self-esteem movement. This leads to the new breed of Jew-hatred, the Israel boycotters, a generation of haters who, instead of being depressed, feel good about themselves while blaming Jews for their own shortcomings.

The kids throw lethal projectiles at the soldiers, and then when the soldiers arrest kids who are trying to hurt and/or kill them, the kids go "waaaaaaaaaaaaah, feel sorry me" "poor little me, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I was just trying to hurt and kill. What are you arresting me for? Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I'm a victim. I'm going to cry for the cameras now. Waaaaaaaah. Feel sorry for me. Waaaaaaaah."

The parents should have been arrested, too. Maybe the soldiers should have thrown rocks back at the kids and seen how many kids the rocks could have taken down.

Nothing had changed in the Arab world since 1920ies Mufti of Jerusalem, later Nazi War criminal whom British and French let to to rile up Arab mobs to murder Jews who were living peacefully in Palestine. After wars of annihilation of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1973 in which Arabs were defeated,, they had changed the tactics. Now they teach their children to either blow themselves up in the buses, markets and/ior dance clubs in Israel and thus achieve martyrdom, but since the Wall had prevents those with suicide belts to easily come to Israel, they teach their children to throw stones at Israelis. Stone are a powerful weapon...remember how david killed Goliath with a stone (from a sling) and people get killed.

The Muslim world is taught to hate non-Muslims and particularly Jews., Muslim Brotherhood, which got money, access and F-16 from Barack Hussein Obama has a stated goal to "infiltrate America and destroy the Western civilization from withing to establish the only true religion Islam to rule over all others". According to Qur'an all non-Muslims go to hell and "martyrs" who murder Jews and Americans go to Muslim Paradise with 72 virgins and 12 prepubescent boys. These are the people with whom Israel is supposed to "negotiate" peace and allow another terrorist state on its border after Islamists took over Egypt and Islamists may topple Assad? Those kids are indeed poor and abused by their parents who teach them to hate and to throw stones and use them as a human shield

Quote of the week (1969): "One representative of a 'non-aligned nation' told me candidly: 'We'd like to condemn the Soviet Union for its repression of intellectuals; we'd like to condemn the United States because of Viet Nam. We cannot afford to do either, so we'll support a condemnation of Israel for reprisals against Arab sabotage.'" Morris Abram, U.S. representative to the Human Rights Commission in a 1969 Foreign Affairs essay

Nothing had changed in Arab and Muslim psyche since Islam itself is incompatible with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and most of the 58 Muslim majority countries refused to sign it but yet they have audacity to attack Israel for "human rights" violation, which are a routine under sharia since Islam itself is a violation of human rights. These "poor Palestinians" problem was created by their Arab "brothers" prevented them to settle in properties that Jews left in the Arab lands when they had to flee with their lives from Arab mobs. Those Arabian Jews, who lived among Arabs even before Islam became a religion, now comprise over 50% of Jewish Israeli population, thus finish moving Arabs out of Gaza and West Bank and finish the exchange of populations. There were more Jews who had to flee Arab lands than Arabs who had to flee Israel in 1948. Israel has 23% of Arab Israelis while there are no Jews living in the Arab world...they are Juden frei...

There cannot be peace in the Middle East or an end to terrorism until Islam abandons its teachings of hate of non-Muslims and particularly Jews. Mohamed was a pedophile, polygamist, rapist, looter and murderer who in any decent society would be treated as a criminal and not emulated as a role model by 1,500 millions of Muslims around the world who are staging a stealth jihad against Western civilization...

Angelika, why are you not busily protesting the children illegally held in US prisons? I can only assume that they are of no interest to you. In fact, all countries will arrest minors when they commit crimes and only Israel is being blamed for doing so when Palestinian children commit attempted murder or murder having been trained by their fathers to do so.

As for the Palestinian children throwing stones, have you not noticed that these children are deliberately trying to cause accidents to kill Israelis? Of course not, that may imply that they were doing something wrong. In fact, Hamas use children as human shields knowing that Israeli soldiers will not willingly endanger their lives. Did you read the story of Hamas standing in a Palestinian orphanage and shelling an Israeli kindergarden knowing that the Israelis would not retaliate? No? Or the terrorists who enter homes and shoot babies in bed? No? Snipers attacking babies in buggies? Blowing up a school bus?

Palestinians also use children as suicide bombers activating the bomb remotely whent the 4/5/6 year old is too frightened to do it himself. Did you know that they will kill their own children and blame Israel? Did you want to know?

Know, am I wasting my time ar are you going to break the habit of a life time and answer these questions?

I think Golda Meir shows the difference between Israelis and Muslim terrorists.

We can forgive you for killing our sons. But we will never forgive you for making us kill yours ~ Golda Meir to Anwar Sadat just before peace talks.

We will have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us ~ Golda Meir

There is no moral equivalence between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

There is a political case on both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but in the conduct of the war there is a difference. In the intifada the Palestinians have descended to the lowest moral level, where they (a) deliberately kill civilian women and children, and (b) celebrate doing so. The Israelis do not do this. They try to hit military targets.

This is not by chance, but rather reflects their different moral universes. The Israelis have a religion (and a western philosophy) that believes in basic human morality, where in war one should try only to attack military targets. The Palestinians, sadly, do not have a religion that defends basic human morality, and so have become simply barbaric and racist, supporting the killing of all Jews, even children and infants. The majority of Palestinians support the killing of Jewish civilians. There is a political case on both sides of this conflict, but there is no moral equivalence between the two sides.

The Arabs had created the problem of Arab refugees from Israel who were urged to leave newly formed Israel when Israel was attacked in 1948 by Arab armies from all sides who were numerically superior, but they lost because Jews were fighting for their survival and against another Holocaust.... Those Arabs were not let settle by their Arab "brothers in their midst, from where more Jewish refugees fled to newly formed Israel and they left properties all over Arab world. If those Arabs were resettled among their Arab brothers, as Jews from Arab countries were settled in Israel, rather then keeping them on UN dole, there woudl be no "Palestinian problem". There is already a Palestinian Arab state...It was formed in 1922 by the First partition of Palestine when 75% of the territory east of Jordan river was given to the Arabs to foem Transjordan (now Jordan kingdom). After WWII 16 MILLIONS of Germans were kicked out of Eueropean countries in which they lived for centuries and resettled in Germany and became useful citizens. IN 1948, when India was partitioned in Muslim Pakistan and Hindu India, some 4 millions of people exchanged places...2 millions of Muslims when to Pakistan and 2 millions of Hiindus went to India...

Only in the case of Palestine, the Arabs became ETERNAL refugees, 5 generations since 1948 kept on UN dole and having the highest birth rate in the world, crating children who are taught to hate and murder...It is Islam in action, financed by UN, EC, USA rather then helping them off the dole and becoming integrated in their Arab communities...where they even speak the same language...Islam is supremacist Nazi like ideology, including delusional Jew hatr4ed and the root cause of violence and terrorism around the world.

Shame on these morons for having the gall to use Martin Luther King, Jr. masks while staging violent protests!

MLK, Jr. never told children to throw rocks at the police. What a besmirching of his good name and works.

More Palestinian corruption. First Mickey Mouse teaching little Palies to put on suicide belts and kill Israeli citizens. Now MLK has been hijacked for Jihad.

Wonder what's going to be corrupted and defiled next by these inbred scumbags.

Obama wants a Jewish state and a Palestinian state living side by side, in peace. Of course, Palestinians are going to protest him. They don't want a Jewish state and they don't want to live in peace. This contrasts clearly with Israelis, who embrace the same vision as Obama.
