FOE has revealed that the contractor hired to write this review, Environmental Resources Management, lied to the State Department when it declared that "no conflict of interest exists for working on this project"

This is more than outrageous and this letter to Kerry needs to be signed by EVERYONE ! I have little hope that even that will still help, they're all in bed with big oil, the entire DOS may be corrupt.

Angelika, I used the green "visit site" button, before I saw your second link, and your info wasn't pre-filled, just to let you know about that. Thanks for this article, and I gladly signed.

I have been astounded about the whole crooked process of this damned pipeline being crammed down our throats, especially because I'm a Nebraskan. We get to be subject to all this risk without, getting any benefit except for some temporary construction jobs. If and when the Ogallala Aquifer gets polluted with the toxic sludge called bitumen, we will be screwed. I'm going to quote an article from 10-27-11:

"The first problem is that portions of the aquifer are running dry. The second is that Trans-Canada, the Canadian oil giant, wants to run a pipeline through a portion of the aquifer in Nebraska. How you feel about that depends entirely on how much you trust oil companies these days, because your State Department appears to be taking a dive on the question, and your Environmental Protection Agency is dodging it entirely.

Make no mistake. You screw with the Ogallala Aquifer and you screw with this nation's heartbeat. Twenty percent of the irrigated farmland in the United States depends upon it. Pumping the water from it is all that has kept the Dust Bowl from coming back, year after year. Any damage to it fundamentally changes the lives of the people who depend on it, their personal economies, the overall national economy, and what we can grow to feed ourselves. Absent the aquifer, and the nation's breadbasket goes back to being a prairie, vast grasslands that the people who first crossed them referred to as a desert. You end up with dry-land corn and some dry-land wheat. And the aquifer is far easier to empty than it is to fill. The technology to fully exploit it has existed only since the 1950's, and portions of it are already dangerously low. It won't be fully recharged until the next Ice Age."

This aquifer is vast, but shallow. The new route that was proposed still crosses the aquifer anyway, and now the State Department says they don't actually know what the route is (B.S.). Canada has ravaged their environment with this asinine tar sands enterprise. It should be becoming obvious that fossil fuels are on their way out, and alternative energy sources are on the rise. TransCanada is in a frenzy to get this "oil" out on the market any way they can, as fast as they can.

Thank you for adding your voice! Very few of our elected Officials or those who hold post in our Agencies that are suppose to protect our lands, water, and air, are free of corruption. Money talks, sanity walks.

Thank you for adding your voice!

I have my fingers crossed but honestly do not expect much from any of them on the XL pipeline. Money talks and we have only our voices with very little talking money. I do not think our voices are louder than the Ca$h. That is very sad, but it seems to be the way things go.
It's taken 40 years to finally have voices speak out on climate change in Washington DC.
Now I wonder how long before those speaking out will be willing to act?

This is absolutely appalling, but for the past 2 years, it seems those words have come out of me more then I have ever imagined, the reign of terror inflicted from the powers from our govt since 2000 is astounding and so corrupt here and pretty much a plague across the world, its time... stand strong everyone.. we need to take control.. these powers that want to push our buttons..have pushed them
