The New Hampshire State Senate will soon vote on a bill that, when signed into law, would abolish the death penalty in the state.

The bill already passed the state's House of Representatives by a wide margin.

Keep the death penalty everywhere and use it when required. Decent, law abiding people should not be expected to keep murderers, rapists, paedophiles and other types of disgusting, violent criminals in comfortable prison accommodation with good meals, sports facilities, and other assorted luxuries, for several years too whole life times.

Signed but makes little sense to me to abolish death penalty in o n l y o n e state. Should be abolished in all the USA.

We should abolish the Death Penalty all over the world.
And in al states, where the Death Penaltiy stil exist (especially in the USA) there should be set a maximum waiting time by law. in which time the penalty must be efectuated. If not, the inmate should have the right to be set free after a certain time, in my opinion after a maximum sentence-time in jail of 30 years.

Wolfgang what you do not realize about our Country is when 26 States sign up against the death penalty then it can go to the Federal level as more States than half will be on the same page. Then the Federal level can just set down a mandate that all States comply to not having a death penalty. So although it looks like one State at a time it is getting close to being able to be more than a 25 State agreement.

Thank you for taking action! Actually I didn't realize that New Hampshire still had the death penalty.

Exactly right sheryl! I did reply back to Wolfgang telling him it has been and will continue to be one at a time, but unfortunately forgot to mention that 26 threshold. If New Hampshire abolishes it will be the 19th state and with that lethal drug issue that all states seem to have now, the missing 7 should follow rather sooner than later.

As the English jurist, Sir William Blackstone said in 1765, 'Better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer'
