Summer Solstice free opening at Stonehenge Stonehenge will close its normal visitor operation at 1500 hrs (3pm) on Friday, 20th June 2008 and re-open again at 0900 hrs (9am) on Sunday, 22nd June 2008.

if anyone is thinking of going to experience the summer solstice at stonehenge, be warned that the traffic in the area can be extreme (as can police presence).

that said, as long as the weather cooperates, it's an experience well worth any amount of hassle. :-)

Thanks for the info :) I wish I could but I doubt I'll ever be in the area. On my top ten places to visit though so maybe one day :)
