Noted and signed. I'm glad to hear that's their "official" stance, although my friend from Beijing says to take everything they say with several grains of salt, sadly.

I understand people being wary of this news but I think it really will happen. China recently announced penalties for eating endangered animals. I think we need to remember that we are dealing with a culture here very alien in terms of animal welfare from our own. Every little step is a positive towards helping the animals and needs to be applauded. I know it is not perfect, far from it, but what country or people are. We all want animal cruelty to stop all over the world now and it is sad it takes so much time but I hope that China and other Asian countries are waking up to this cause and will create a snowball effect across the region.
